Friend was talking to guy at work who's really tall. She asked him his height (6'5) then jokingly moaned and said "im only 5'2"... they were pissed, both married, flirtatious?

OP posts:
MrsHandles · 05/05/2017 07:49

Good lord, I never realised I was so flirtatious! I'm a married woman for heaven's sake! I'll never speak of my 5' 5" stature ever again; my flirting days are over Sad

loverlybunchofcoconuts · 05/05/2017 07:49

A tall friend hid my pen on a tall cupboard, and I had to stand on a chair to reach it. At the time I saw it as a prank, and thought he was teasing me, about being short...but I now realise it must have been the most filthy innuendo ever :-D!?

I wonder if the OPs colleague was Barbara Windsor , and she did that dirty giggle as she said it? That's the only way I can make it sound a bit rude!

FlaviaAlbia · 05/05/2017 07:51

I'm 5'2" and I've definitely said this to loads of people. In fact, I say it to DH fairly often and do you know what happened after?

We bought a step from Ikea so I can reach the top of cupboards.

We're shameless.

OboePlayingImmortalRabbit · 05/05/2017 07:56

ShowMe That's disgraceful behaviour. Hope you're ashamed of yourself.

And yes, tell your DH immediately Grin

EatsLeavesAndShit · 05/05/2017 07:58

*GetInTheFuckingSea

Btwt if that's pissed up uninhibited workplace banter where you are, Monday mornings must be really crazy.*

Thank you OP this thread has helped me realise why I'm single... or maybe not - just told a random bloke at work my height & he looked at me like I was a weirdo... maybe he wasn't tall enough Hmm

TheNaze73 · 05/05/2017 08:42

What a total non event Biscuit

ShowMePotatoSalad · 05/05/2017 08:43

Did you know that when you get married you can't have a completely innocent conversation with someone from the opposite sex in case you cause paranoia in completely unrelated third parties who happen to be eavesdropping?

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 05/05/2017 08:44

Wow I must be really out of the loop if this is what counts for flirting these days ;)

Scribblegirl · 05/05/2017 08:47

OP I have the perfect shopping thread for you: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2921022-Getting-married-Looking-for-perfect-present-for-hubs-Check-this-out? Grin

DirtyChaiLatte · 05/05/2017 08:47

The only way the OP makes any sense is of the 'moan' in question was a 'stick a super energetic vibrator up your jojo' ecstatic moan.

RitaMills · 05/05/2017 08:47

Aw I came back here this morning expecting some epic drip feed, like she said it while rubbing his crotch and suggestively winked, but I get zilch, a no show OP.

BarbarianMum · 05/05/2017 08:48

Possibly in Saudi Arabia. Not in the UK, unless I'm supremely out of touch.

PinkSquash · 05/05/2017 08:54

If the man said 'I'd give you a few inches' it'd definitely be flirting.

I was asked my height by a policeman last week, we were both on duty AND in public. Does he have no shame?!

Mummyoflittledragon · 05/05/2017 09:09

Yeh PinkSquash, especially if she quipped back "at least 6 inches please".

PigtailsAndPosies · 05/05/2017 09:09

That would be such shit flirting.

Now if he'd said, "I'm 6'5" and she'd replied, "Really, I'm only 5'2. Perfect height" with a bit of a cheeky glint in the eye, then that might have been flirting...

RockinHippy · 05/05/2017 09:09

Don't be so daft

ZaZathecat · 05/05/2017 09:10

Damn it, I've wasted my time reading 5 pages and I'm still none the wiser.

SecretNortherner · 05/05/2017 09:16

When you say she moaned, did she also look at his penis and say 'I'm only 5'2, your penis must be the same size as my forarm?' .. he proceeds to show her. That would be flirting.

What you're describing is a conversation.

AnnieAnoniMouse · 05/05/2017 09:24

If this passes as flirting, I think I must be subconsciously bi 😂

Actually, if she said 'Oh, I'm only 5' 2 ' in a 'our bits will never match up' kind of way, hoping he'd say 'everyone's the same height lying down 😉' I guess it could pass for flirting...

Peanutbutterrules · 05/05/2017 09:26

I was talking to a friend the other day about her daughters recent growth spirt in that 'how tall do you think she'll be'? Asked her how tall she was...was stunned when she said 6ft -I'm 5'2" and for some reason hadn't quite clocked the extent of the height difference between us.

Now worried she'll think I was coming onto her for a lesbian fling...what will our dh's say when they hear of my shameless behaviour!

SparklyMagpie · 05/05/2017 09:27

Well I've got a new chat up line to try out

MrsJamesMathews · 05/05/2017 09:30

Well done OP you've managed to create an anti-climax even more disappointing than yesterday's Royal announcement.
