Voting where? We didn't have local elections (SE England).

specialsubject · 04/05/2017 16:57

No, it is a secret ballot.

I ignore party politics on this one. None of the candidates live in the ward and only one sent a flyer. It was quite a struggle and would have been a spoilt paper if I had not managed to track them down and ask questions.

Pinkheart5917 · 04/05/2017 16:58

We are in the south east England and we had local elections Confused I voted on my run this morning

AprilLudgateDwyer · 04/05/2017 16:59

Also SE and had local elections. Voted when picked my son up from school

KnittingPearl · 04/05/2017 16:59

I voted for a candidate from a different party than the one I will vote for in June - local candidate with local issues, so I care about that. In June, I will care about who forms the government etc, so will vote for a completely different party representing completely different things.

grasspigeons · 04/05/2017 17:00

No its a secret. .but our labour candidate stood down to give the lib dem candidate a better chance of ousting our conservative candidate. We also had ukip as an option.

CantStandMeow · 04/05/2017 17:00

We had locals here. I voted Lib Dem. I'll vote Lib Dem next month too but that's irrelevant to my vote today. I prefer this candidate.

trilbydoll · 04/05/2017 17:02

I voted for our local independent candidate. I saw him the other day, he looked like he had fallen on hard times, I probably should have asked if he is homeless before I voted!

TheDogsMother · 04/05/2017 17:02

I voted for the ony one of the candidates that actually lives in our town. I'd like to think they understand the problems and opportunities.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/05/2017 17:03

Not all councils have elections today. We do though in m area of the south east.

Haven't yet. Will vote conservative.

neonrainbow · 04/05/2017 17:04

Im going to vote for the candidate that's going to hopefully put a spanner in the works of the current Tory who is allowing builders to put houses on every scrap of green land they can find in exchange for donations to the Tory Party.

user1466690252 · 04/05/2017 17:05

I have voted for our local independent candidate, he actually lives here and is mega involved

namechange20050 · 04/05/2017 17:05

I will be voting later for the independent candidate. She's very involved locally & does a good job.

LordRothermereBlackshirtCunt · 04/05/2017 17:06

Labour. My county council (Oxfordshire) currently has a mix of Labour (urban areas) and Conservative (rural areas, like mine) councillors. The Tory councillors in other parts of the county have been happily voting for the maternity unit at our local hospital to close.

ColdAsIceCubes · 04/05/2017 17:07

We are voting for a mayor in the West Midlands. I voted Labour.

PhyllisNights · 04/05/2017 17:08

Lib Dem. I would have voted Labour, but there's no way they can win in my part of Surrey.

Timeforabiscuit · 04/05/2017 17:08

A mix of labour, lib dem and independents, voting for FIVE parish councillors for newly established parishes and i thought a nice mix would keep them on their toes Grin

Tory led council, no money, parishes are in charge of grounds and maintenance of play parks - basically the same thankless task as the milk monitor at school, really should have voted tory just to keep them distracted....Hmm

springhassprungohmy · 04/05/2017 17:09

Voting later for SNP

HeadDreamer · 04/05/2017 17:09

Lib dem because our local candidate is amazing. This is a local election.

LightYears · 04/05/2017 17:09

Green.

tldr · 04/05/2017 17:10

Lib Dem for local issues but I'll vote for them in GE too.

Properjob · 04/05/2017 17:11

Against the Tories which round here means LinDemGrin

Badders123 · 04/05/2017 17:12

Labour

Birdsgottaf1y · 04/05/2017 17:14

I'm in Liverpool, I, my DDs and a lot of the Women that I know have voted for the candidate that is addressing 'Women's issues'.

I normally vote Green in the local elections, but we've had a lot of Murders of Women (and children) by their Male Partners, who were all supposedly known to the Police and SS and being given protection.

The Police are still letting Women facing DV down, very badly in my region and we have been hit hardest by the cuts.
