I stood in the entrance of M&S for 5 minutes this morning just trying to imagine anyone who this would suit.
It's polyester as well so you couldn't even say it would be good in a heatwave.

What is it with this season's fashions? I've seen so many hideous creations in shops - all polyester, garish patterns, frills and pleats galore!

I saw a dress in Sainsburys that was almost an exact replica of a frock my friend wore to a Bad Taste Party in the mid 90s. We found it in a charity shop and everyone who saw it fell about laughing at it - I still have photos of the party and the resemblance is uncanny. WHY would anyone wish to dress like this? Literally no one would look good in this stuff.

TheWhiteRoseOfYork · 02/05/2017 14:45

It is the sort of thing Endora from Bewitched would wear , maybe hers would be in black though!

PinkSquash · 02/05/2017 14:47

Errrrr.... Hmm

Ceto · 02/05/2017 14:53

OMG, the one shoulder floral orange ruffle dress ...

WHY? How could anyone possibly think that was worth producing, let along putting into mass production? It's utterly hideous.

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 02/05/2017 14:54

"Jerry, here's the £45, it's the size 8, in pink...and, yes, you do have to pick it up from M&S".

My God you would not dare light a fag or a candle wearing that monstrosity!

The colour is very erm bold..?

Top prize OP TOP PRIZE!

RortyCrankle · 02/05/2017 14:58

It could be even more perfect if crimplene hadn't gone out of fashion Grin It can only be described as fugly and the colour is beyond hideous. I will be going to M&S tomorrow, I will see if I can find anything to beat it - pretty unlikely I would say.

BanjoPier · 02/05/2017 14:58

I immediately thought "Well that's the last that I play the tart for you, Jerry!"

spiderlight · 02/05/2017 15:00

I immediately thought Margo Leadbetter as well!! Grin

Elendon · 02/05/2017 15:00

I've seen worse bride maids dresses. I've seen worse on the Guardian style pages.

JassyJones · 02/05/2017 15:00

It's definitely a Margot or Endora dress. Grin I'm still in shock they want £45 for it, I wouldn't part with 45 pence for the dress!

Elendon · 02/05/2017 15:01

Sorry but in that picture of Margo and Jerry, Margo is by far the best dressed. Margo rocks!

HappyFlappy · 02/05/2017 15:02

The Roskanda one is an abomination, to IMO.

Indeed Rorty. Crimpelene - the fabric of the gods!

*too, not to

WhatchaMaCalllit · 02/05/2017 15:02

The dress that Margot is wearing in that picture Thalia, is, dare I say it, nice. The sleeves are not bell-like or unnecessarily flouncy. The white/cream stripe adds something to it and the pink, well it's not too in-your-face pink either. On top of all of that, it's being worn by the stunning Penelope Keith...

I do like the comment you've put with it though...takes me right back!

Batgirlspants · 02/05/2017 15:03

Oh dear God it's beyond awful.

Who the fuck does the buying and designing for M&S they get it so wrong all the time.

Nousernameforme · 02/05/2017 15:05

Maudlinmaud
that one reminded me of

HappyFlappy · 02/05/2017 15:08

THANK YOU VERY MUCH OP!!!

Since I opened that M&S link, my laptop has been covered with adverts for dresses of similar hideousness!

NOW what do I do?

Angry Angry Angry

TheFarceAwakens · 02/05/2017 15:11

Oh, i love that dress, also really love the red one DontBeASalmon posted, I seem to like a lot of clothes MN doesn't though, I accept that I have awful taste. On the upside, if everyone else hates the clothes I like sale rails will be full soon Grin

Nousernameforme · 02/05/2017 15:13
