I stood in the entrance of M&S for 5 minutes this morning just trying to imagine anyone who this would suit.
It's polyester as well so you couldn't even say it would be good in a heatwave.

Posting here because I can't find the other thread devoted to the pink one.

Same design, different pattern Confused

They haven't learned.

This is the thread about the pink one Smile

TSSDNCOP · 08/07/2017 18:50

In M&S today my friend said, ooh good they've got the yellow dress, I love that and whipped out her phone to show me. Not only did I know exactly what she meant, but I could see it from where we were standing.

What's wrong there you ask? We were in Bluewater at the lingerie till and the dress, which in real life is tennis ball yellow, was a football field away.

Gingernaut · 08/07/2017 20:47

@Crunchymum, this isn't the thread I've been posting on.

It certainly isn't the thread where I've posted pics of me moddelling said pink dress.

'Anotherpoisonprince' my instant thought was 'Abigail's Party' - what on earth has happened to M&S?

OVienna · 08/07/2017 22:20

I bought a Zara dress with ruffles. It's black and the purchase occurred when I succumbed to heat stroke in Paris after stuffing my face with macaroons. I do like it but I have to wear the fuck out if it this year because - well it's so 2017, innit.

Also- the examples on this thread explain why Johnny Boden is working his way up the Rich List. Same wrap dress year in and year out. Who cares, I say. Look at the alternatives!!!!!!

gttia · 08/07/2017 22:35

TSSNDNCOP - in Bluewater daily (live very local) and know exactly what you mean Grin

Crunchymum · 09/07/2017 09:54

There must be 2 threads? The dress is certainly 'noticeable' enough to warrant 2 threads.

You look very.... urm..... fetching.... in the dress? You didn't buy it did you?

Gingernaut · 09/07/2017 13:00

I bought it and wore it to the London meet up.

Someone dared me.....😳

I wore an H&M gold shift dress like a slip so I could wear a comfy bra.

FruBayerischOla · 09/07/2017 15:44

gingernaut, I absolutely and totally admired your chutzpah for wearing that bonkers dress at our last meet-up! I know you told us you'd worn it as a dare, and you are a much braver woman than I am!

FruBayerischOla · 09/07/2017 15:49

Oh, and, previous thread for Crunchy www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/2919935-that-awful-pink-m-s-dress Grin

Gingernaut · 09/07/2017 16:18

Thanks, FruBayerischOla.

When I searched for that thread I couldn't find it. Confused

FruBayerischOla · 09/07/2017 16:43

gingernaut. I suspect that thread started in another topic (AIBU or Chat?) and MNHQ might have moved in into Style & Beauty at some point?

I'm sure I remember seeing it when it was first started - and I'm not a S&B habitué!

Crunchymum · 09/07/2017 17:09

Thank you for the link, I'll have a read of that later Smile

Thattwatoverthere · 09/07/2017 17:30

Ah, tried to get my mum to get that for a wedding yesterday. Oh how we laughed...

Cantusethatname · 08/08/2017 17:22

Just to update, the M&S sale is full of these pink dresses reduced from #45 to #7.99 and still not selling. Why doesn't M&S listen to Mumsnet!

I'm pretty sure my mum and Auntie wore dresses like this
In 1977

Whitecurrants · 08/08/2017 17:55

No longer available online Shock

Valentine2 · 08/08/2017 17:56

Just came in to say I popped out to the local Tesco's and their F&F section was choking full of these sleeves. Is it the invasion of the sleeves or something? you cannot even temper them somehow.the design is MADE to look hideous. Grin

^this. Seen this too at the shops last week. Serves them right.

MrsJamesAspey · 08/08/2017 18:00

I wore a bridesmaids dress about 40 years ago with sleeves like that and it was really really itchy. Thanks for the memories of the hideous dress I wore the one and only time I've ever been bridesmaid 😂
