Fragrant Diane, she really is the kiss of death.
My toes are still curling

I am defending a black woman who is an easy target for you all. when someone else messes up, be sure to write multiple threads about how godawful that person is.

creighton · 02/05/2017 17:47

don't worry about the labour party. they will not win the election. worry that the conservatives will dismantle the welfare state and mess up the brexit negotiations over the next few years.

Bringmesunshite · 02/05/2017 17:48

You will see many many many many threads about how JC and Theresa May and BoJo and Gove and many others have messed up. Be shit and get criticised.
That MP the other day who made some stupid comment about Martha Kearney's blouse got criticised for making a stupid comment about a woman journalist 's blouse. She wasn't criticised for being a black woman.

RoseGoldProsecco · 02/05/2017 17:50

Here you go. Lots of criticism of corbyn, a white male, on this thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2913000-To-not-understand-all-of-this-Corbyn-hate

Literally thousands more examples of people messing up and being criticised on AIBU and Chat. You know that full well. You just came here to defend DA solely because she's black, without any interest in what she actually did or whether the criticism is justified? Confused

Bringmesunshite · 02/05/2017 17:52

"Easy target for you all". Yes, because she was shit in the interview. That is why she was an easy target.

Countrymilk352 · 02/05/2017 17:53

"Amazing how threads about DA gather momentum regarding accusations against her detractors of racism and sexism, anyone would think it was a clever ploy to deflect the deserved focus on her utter incompetence this morning. (Not for the first time)"

Mais oui!

Bringmesunshite · 02/05/2017 17:57

Like Trump, the current Labour front bench are victims of fake news media bias prejudice and many other things. Not their own shitness.

creighton · 02/05/2017 17:57

i haven't said that the criticism of her interview this morning is not justified I am appalled at the hatred levelled at her

Annahibiscuits · 02/05/2017 17:59

I haven't listened to this, but I like Diane Abbot

And there is no such thing as 'a race card'

Andrewofgg · 02/05/2017 18:00

Criticism, even sharp and severe criticism, is not necessarily hatred.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 02/05/2017 18:06

Criticism, even sharp and severe criticism, is not necessarily hatred.

Exactly.

GrimDamnFanjo · 02/05/2017 18:09

I lived in her constituency for years. I had a friend that was in the same class as her and Michael Portillo.

I think she made a show of herself because she is not up to the brief. The Home office is a beast, it chews up more capable politicians and spits them out.

Corbyn has a laughable shadow cabinet. Very few of them are up to the job and have been selected because they are his people, but not necessarily the most capable. Where are the former Labour ministers? You know, the ones who have actually held office?

Oh yeah, they are not " left wing enough..."

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 02/05/2017 18:10

Creighton get a grip.

You haven't even listened to the catastrophic interview she gave. It was dreadful.

Why are you banging on about race? It's irrelevant. The only way in which race is relevant to the discussion is in terms of dissecting Abbot's own character flaws and some of the shocking remarks she made herself about people of different ethnicity, and how this renders her outrageously unsuitable for public office in many people's eyes. End of. There's no racism towards her on here, you are inventing things and attention seeking.

You're starting to come across nothing but a shit stirrer

Abbots character flaws in terms of that was supposed to read

Bringmesunshite · 02/05/2017 18:12

"hatred"? She's Shadow Home Secretary ffs. Expectations are high . Delivery is off the bottom of the chart low. The disappointment and frustration that many Labour supporters feel is expressed strongly and regularly on here against the whole lot of them. They are a shambles and she is part of it.

Blossomdeary · 02/05/2017 18:14

I cannot imagine why the party do not just get rid of her - she is a total liability. Let us hope it is not simply because she has shared a bed with her esteemed leader.

RoseGoldProsecco · 02/05/2017 18:18

^ I am no fan of corbyn, but I think he has principles. That won't be the reason.

The reason will be that he's got no one else to put in the role. ^

creighton · 02/05/2017 18:18

I haven't invented anything. Race is relevant. there is effortless racism and spite towards her. I am not attention seeking. I respond to the never ending stream of shit that comes from posters on this forum.

creighton · 02/05/2017 18:20

now she's a black whore who slept her way into her current position

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 02/05/2017 18:22

creighton, you have said you didn't listen to the interview this morning, you keep bringing race into the discussion .

Race is not relevant, competence, or lack of, is.

Bringmesunshite · 02/05/2017 18:23

One person called her a moron and a crook. That was pointless and unjustified. Everyone else is reacting to the ridiculous interview she gave as a senior Shadow Minister. If you are seeing an endless stream of racial abuse against her on this thread, I am not sure what you are actually seeing. But, as pp said, nice distraction attempt.

Countrymilk352 · 02/05/2017 18:23

If you say so creighton Hmm.

creighton · 02/05/2017 18:25

talk to your friend blossomdeary

CopperRose · 02/05/2017 18:26

creighton, have you bothered to listen to her interview yet?

I'd be interested to hear your analysis of it, in the context of a Shadow Home Secretary rolling out one of their keystone Manifesto pledges in the throes of a General Election.

Imagine if you want that it is a white male politician of your choice being interviewed.

Bringmesunshite · 02/05/2017 18:28

She's got the job because no one competent will do it. As is repeatedly pointed out on this thread.
Politicians shag each other. People talk about it. John Major/Edwina Currie etc.
