Fragrant Diane, she really is the kiss of death.
My toes are still curling

Idk the tories were split over Europe for hers and ukip was eating them - labour can sort it out from this low base.

BadLad · 07/05/2017 14:07

I'd rather be in the middle of those two than May and Hammond. Christ that would finish me off

We need a Tory called Clarkson.

NoLotteryWinYet · 07/05/2017 14:33

Isn't Johnson the Clarkson?

CauliflowerSqueeze · 07/05/2017 14:54

It really seriously pisses me off that when politicians are asked a yes/no question that they just make a random comment, peppered with "and this is important" to stop their interviewers interrupting.

They should be told "it's yes or no and if you refuse to respond then we will announce your job is vacant for someone who will respond."
"Well I think the important thing.."
"Viewers, Diane Abbott has now resigned. Goodbye Miss Abbott. And in other news..."

Idk the tories were split over Europe for hers and ukip was eating them - labour can sort it out from this low base. They did but at the same time they all believed they were toris. None of them thought they were different when it came to being a conservative. The Labour Party is at the core of what it means to be labour including the principles of what it means. Those who have gone back to the core of what it means to be labour with no proper policy and those who are blairite in the centrist ground.

The 'usual reason'? Oh please don't tell me that someone thinks people are criticising her because she's black?! What rubbish. They are criticising her because she sounded like she didn't have a clue what she was talking about. I was cringing listening to it (in sympathy more than anything tbh). And why did she persist in keep saying 'police MEN' rather than 'police OFFICERS'?

TheOriginalChatelaine · 06/06/2017 09:45

Sadly but predictably it's all unravelling for Diane Abbott.

selsigfach · 06/06/2017 10:38

Curiously too unwell to appear on Woman's Hour this morning.

waitforitfdear · 06/06/2017 10:42

I started a thread last night be size she was clearly 'indisposed' and it's anyone's guess how but she was incoherent vague and slurry.

Seems my thread has gone.

No idea why.

waitforitfdear · 06/06/2017 10:44

Usual reasons?

What are those then? She's a racist in her remarks about 'West Indian women' she's a hypocrite for educating her son privately and she thinks 'chairmen Mao' did 'good things'

Do you mean those reasons???

IloveBanff · 06/06/2017 10:45

I think the withdrawal from Woman's Hour may have been strategic www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/diane-abbott-pulls-out-of-womans-hour-debate-at-short-notice-a3557791.html. I hope so anyway. That's better than her really being unwell.

Just announced Lyn Brown (idk?) is going to be standing in for DA as shadow home secretary due to ill health. You were right.
