What stupid thing has Corbyn said?
On asked what of the 4 options he would take when writing 'the letter' (the very first job he has to do):
"...I would order an immediate strategic defence review..." etc
- he was pressed on this, he wouldn't answer, just kept going on about how he'd get 'all the facts' in a 'review' etc
The stupid thing is that he didn't need to say explicitly what option he would choose, it's private.
If he was on the ball he'd have said
"That's a matter for me to decide, confidentially, following the explicit briefing from the armed forces chief. It would not be appropriate for me to elaborate on that".
When asked if he would use nuclear weapons he prattled on about "building consensus" - he could have been firm & clearly stated what we all know is the case:
I.e. "Whilst I, personally, do not agree with trident and the use of nuclear weapons, I am the representative of the party - the party's view is to renew trident and retain our nuclear capabilities; would I 'press the button?' Well, I don't think anyone can truly answer that until the situation occurs - but rest assured the safety & security of Britain would be my primary concern".
The stupidity is that he knew these questions would come up - he was entirely unprepared for an answer, which just served to make him look even more like an ill-prepared, unaware, uninformed, dithering fuckwit.
