To think it's rude to asking how much it costs?

I've had cosmetic surgery and it's something very noticeable. I'm very open with it but I'm sick of the first question being - how much did it cost??

Aibu? It's none of anyone's business

I know people say this and are not believed. I'm hooooowwwlling with laughter and tears falling down my cheeks. Grin
Is plastic surgery the new outing thing? Replacing 'hobby'?

Jux · 01/05/2017 15:22

I'd love a pm too please - though I admit it's really NOMB.

Take the bright and breezy route. It'll stop soon enough as people getne to the new you.

I'm glad you're happy with it [champagne]

MrTCakes · 01/05/2017 15:23

Adam's apple implant?

Jux · 01/05/2017 15:24

Oh and I wold love elf ears. I saw a girl with elf ears at the Sidmouth Folk Festival last year.

Jux · 01/05/2017 15:25

would - I hate this horrible iPad keyboard at themoment, it's just useless.

MerryInthechelseahotel · 01/05/2017 15:26

Me too I would love to know (I used to work with a plastic surgeon) he was gorgeous

stabbybitch · 01/05/2017 15:30

Very intrigued, pm please op!

SemiNormal · 01/05/2017 15:30

PM me please Grin

Cosmetic surgery is still one of those things it's really hard to get a baseline price on without actually seeing a surgeon. You can find prices for 'budget' places overseas, but very little info about what it costs at home. - It's absolutely infuriating trying to get an idea of plastic surgery costs here. I don't want a consultation yet because I'm convinced they'll persuade me I'm so fucking ugly I need the full works and I'm not sure I can afford it.

Nose or boobs?

Haha

ineedwine99 · 01/05/2017 15:32

Super curious now! But sod them, it is rude and none of their business. I had an NHS breast reduction years ago and I always got asked about it (it was medical not for cosmetic reasons before i get pounced on, very big on a small frame, damage to neck, shoulders and back)

stabbybitch · 01/05/2017 15:40

I have lip filler and one of the first things asked is how much. Iv never though it rude though.

I like looking at different procedures and the varying prices, if I was rich I would have quite a few Blush

GreatGumboots · 01/05/2017 15:47

Right, who's going to start a new thread? -

"I'm thinking about changing my appearance and fancy cosmetic surgery.

I would prefer a cutting edge (no pun intended!) or rare procedure so I can be trailblazer, and I'd like it to be noticeable!
Any suggestions for procedures I could have done?"
I'm quite well-off so ideally something expensive to treat myself!

Grin
MyGastIsFlabbered · 01/05/2017 15:52

I neeeed to know what the procedure was!

haveacupoftea · 01/05/2017 15:52

I really need to know... if it's something ludicrous you can't really blame people for asking

Emmageddon · 01/05/2017 15:53

I got a PM and can confirm it's a unicorn's horn.

Wink
BorisJohnsonsHair · 01/05/2017 15:56

I don't want to know what it is. But how much did it cost OP? Grin

dancemom · 01/05/2017 15:56

I would just reply

"You can't put a price on feeling comfortable with yourself"

Tonkatol · 01/05/2017 15:57

OP, sorry I am another person who is so intrigued by what procedure is so rare, yet so noticeable, please pm me. I have had "cosmetic" surgery on my nostril but that was following surgery to remove a basal cell carcinoma (was only 30 at the time and felt very self conscious). As a result of that, I have also had skin and cartilage removed from my ear.

shrunkenhead · 01/05/2017 15:59

It's gotta be a unicorn horn on her forehead.
Extra eye removal?
I figure it's got to be something added rather than removed....eg if it was nose shaving, ears pinning back etc people wouldn't say anything as too polite

Vroomster · 01/05/2017 15:59

Oh I so want it to be a unicorn's horn!

mydietstartsmonday · 01/05/2017 16:01

I am the sort of person who would ask, not because I want to judge you on how you spend your money but because I am genuinely interested.
I might ask you was it worth it and are you pleased with it and it looks great (if it does) and was the discomfort worth it.
Obviously in your case you would say absolutely so. A number of people will want something done at some point and I think the more info you can get on any major change that involves voluntary surgery is useful. So I would say do not take it so personally, tell if you want to and don't I'd you don't want to.
A frequent if my had a boob job and my comments to her were - wow they are fantastic, worth every pennny. And believe me they are spectacular.

khajiit13 · 01/05/2017 16:02

I assume people are asking because theyre intrigued. If it's as rare as you say. Come on OP, spill

cauliflowercheese14 · 01/05/2017 16:03

I had similar tonka but different reasons so I have a wonky ear and a wonky nose!

Intrigued by rarity of procedure too - can I have a PM too. I thought most things were increasingly common these days and quite right too. Nobody should suffer a lifetimes self consciousness if avoidable.
