To think it's rude to asking how much it costs?

I've had cosmetic surgery and it's something very noticeable. I'm very open with it but I'm sick of the first question being - how much did it cost??

Aibu? It's none of anyone's business

I was going to say teeth but that isn't so rare!

viques · 01/05/2017 14:07

I suspect that "how much did it cost" is code speak for "did you have it done on the NHS" !

alonsypot · 01/05/2017 14:08

Oh god I've just googled "plastic surgery" to learn more and am wishing I hadn't because the expression "vaginoplasty" has made me purse right up down there.

(Absolutely no offence at anyone who's done it and also assuming this isn't the OP's one as it wouldn't be obvious - just ... not something I ever thought would exist.)

No it's very obvious what I had done wasn't on the NHS.

I work with a woman who had her labia trimmed to please her boyfriend Hmm She was off sick for 6 weeks and could hardly walk, it hurt to pee and she regretted having it done almost immediately. A painful and unnecessary and bloody expensive procedure.

alonsypot · 01/05/2017 14:14

Aaargh emma that's the other one I was just reading about!

GreenFox17 · 01/05/2017 14:15

Oh PM OP, I'm very interested!

kmc1111 · 01/05/2017 14:16

It's rude, but I think most people are just curious. Cosmetic surgery is still one of those things it's really hard to get a baseline price on without actually seeing a surgeon. You can find prices for 'budget' places overseas, but very little info about what it costs at home.

Even if they aren't interested in having your particular work done, knowing if it cost £2000 or £20,000 would give them an idea of what other things cost.

I get this question pretty often. I just state the amount. Usually people then talk about what they want done. Occasionally someone comes back with some comment about what a lot of money it is. 'Lucky I have loads' is my default response. It really pisses the people who are trying to be mean off, and shuts up the rest.

AirBiscuitEater · 01/05/2017 14:17

Oh god the curiosity!! Please tell us OP!

Bluntness100 · 01/05/2017 14:19

Oh I need to know. PMing..🤔

Hauntedbytheghostofyou · 01/05/2017 14:19

Just to point out it's nothing to do with my vagina Grin ... I said it was obvious so I don't want you all thinking I flash my v around the office.

But that type of surgery is actually getting more popular. Designer vagina.

OP posts:
MrTumblesbitch · 01/05/2017 14:23

I was Shock at the cross posts between you saying it was very noticeable and designer vagina posts Grin

I would just own it but I have no filter! "Super expensive but worth every penny - don't I look fab now?" Or something!

Oh go on, please pm me too! I need to know now Grin

CatTheMouse · 01/05/2017 14:23

I'm thinking you've had something added? Like metallic horns under the skin or similar. Something quite niche, but noticeable. I couldn't think of anything else that would have been performed on so few people!

NoMaybe · 01/05/2017 14:24

I don't think it's that rude to ask how much it costs as long as people don't press you when you say you don't want to tell them. I think it's just curiosity. 🤷🏻‍♀️ However, there is nothing wrong with not telling people. They can go home and google if they are desperate to know.

I'm desperate to know what you had done. I can't think of anything obvious that would be so rare.

IhatchedaSnorlax · 01/05/2017 14:31

Completely agree with Nomaybe - not rude per se to ask but would be very rude to press you on it if you state that you'd rather not say (I'm also desperate to know as I can't think what would be so obvious but so rare Grin)

GreatGumboots · 01/05/2017 14:33

Third eye removal
Massive nipple augmentation (as in "that'll take someone's eye out!")

Ear trimming/augmentation eg. pixie style
Unicorn horn added
Confused

Although I'm really just here wondering the cost of a (very) partial labiaplasty and hoping someone knows...

GreenHairDontCare · 01/05/2017 14:33

You've got elf ears, haven't you?

CatTheMouse · 01/05/2017 14:35

Elf ears is a much better guess, why didn't I think of that!!?

Emmageddon · 01/05/2017 14:35

Laughing at the unicorn's horn Grin

Have you had a full set of Simon Cowell-style porcelain veneers?

Silvercatowner · 01/05/2017 14:35

It would be very outing if I said on here. Under 100 patients have had it done.

Honestly, unless its a unicorn horn, it really isn't. If it is a unicorn horn, how much was it??

Did you have bum implants?

namechange20050 · 01/05/2017 14:37

I had a nose job. It didn't bother me one bit people asking how much it was. People are just interested as it's slightly out of the ordinary.

SparklyMagpie · 01/05/2017 14:40

Bum implants?! That would be noticeable? Pm me an let me know OP, purely because I'm nosey Grin

QODRestYeMerryGentlemen · 01/05/2017 14:40
