To think it's rude to asking how much it costs?

I've had cosmetic surgery and it's something very noticeable. I'm very open with it but I'm sick of the first question being - how much did it cost??

Aibu? It's none of anyone's business

A tail! You have a tail!!

Redredredrose · 02/05/2017 19:31

Oh God. Let it be a tail.

Lillithxxx · 02/05/2017 19:33

If it's obvious you've had a procedure then what would you be happy for them to say OP? You can hardly expect them to say nothing. It's likely that anything will feel intrusive.

Exegete · 02/05/2017 19:35

MaitlandGirl, now I also neeeed to know what dog breed you have!! Oh and how much it costs... pleeeeaase!!

Exegete · 02/05/2017 19:36

Is it a unicorn dog??

Exegete · 02/05/2017 19:37

A Dalmatian chihuahua?

Namesarehard · 02/05/2017 19:40

I'm going with bum implants.
But I find it hysterical that you don't want to out yourself by saying what it is but people can pm you. You don't know who's sending the pm's. A work colleague for exapmle could recognise this and will pm out of curiosity to see if it's you. You've already outted yourself to anyone who knows you the minute you said only 100 have had this.
Quite a rediculous self centred post.
Anyway, back to the question. No I don't think it's rude. You haven't got to answer them that's up to you. I don't think it's rude to ask though. People are curious about this type of stuff. Plus I can see it being a standard question in the conversation.

Hulababy · 02/05/2017 19:40

They're probably just making conversation.

I had my laser eye surgery to correct my vision a year ago. Since having it done lots of people have asked me about it and many have asked how much it cost, even people who have no reason to have their vision corrected (so not asking for that reason.) But I don't see it as rude. they are just curious and making conversation. I am happy to tell them.

AgentProvocateur · 02/05/2017 19:44

pollymere in the spirit of this thread, can I be nosy and ask how much your tooth implants were? And what their lifespan is likely to be. Thanks. (Feel free to tell me to MMOB - I won't be offended)

PhyllisNights · 02/05/2017 19:44

People are so blasé now that they probably asking about surgery in the same way they may ask you much your haircut or coat cost.

selfishmommy · 02/05/2017 19:54

I'm sorry you've had such a tough ride here. I agree with previous posters - you need a stock response, particularly for people you don't know. Sometjing dismissive.

TheEternalForever · 02/05/2017 20:00

I quite want to know what you've had done now but not enough to actually be assertive and PM you, so I'll just leave you alone OP Grin

I do however, thanks to this thread, find myself wanting elf ears and a unicorn horn (and a puppy but that's my usual state anyway). I'm very easily led, obviously Grin Wink

RavioliOnToast · 02/05/2017 20:08

I am another that is desperate to know what it is. Liposuction on your face? Horns? Hair transplant?

QueenofPentacles · 02/05/2017 20:09

How noticeable?

WinBigly · 02/05/2017 20:10

Chin implant?

user1493022461 · 02/05/2017 20:11

You're very open about it but get annoyed at being asked the most obvious question about it?

Perhaps you should shut up about your boob job or whatever you got if you don't want to actually talk about it?

serenablackfyre · 02/05/2017 20:13

I get the same about my tattoos. I now carry around my tattooists business cards haha

mrmanc · 02/05/2017 20:16

She's not replying any more.

Maybe she got the hump?

Hauntedbytheghostofyou · 02/05/2017 20:20

Perhaps you should shut up about your boob job or whatever you got if you don't want to actually talk about it?

Well aren't you a little ray of sunshine.

I DONT talk about it. But if someone asks if I've had it changed then I'm not going to lie.

I definitely dont have any need for a boob job.

Is that a clue Mrmanc? Wink

DontPullThatTubeOut · 02/05/2017 20:20

Maybe, I'm just gutted I'll never know what she had done Grin

Hauntedbytheghostofyou · 02/05/2017 20:21

Maybe she got the hump?

Nope. But I don't really see the point in this thread much anymore, it's not really evolved into anything more than it was yesterday.

OP posts:
DontPullThatTubeOut · 02/05/2017 20:22

Cross post fs.

You are enjoying the attention though aren't you op? Bet you think you are superior because people are asking what you've had done because we can't see it through a fucking screen, no matter how obvious it is Hmm

DontPullThatTubeOut · 02/05/2017 20:23

Probably because it can't involve when it lacks the information that is apparently the basis of the thread.

DontPullThatTubeOut · 02/05/2017 20:23

Evolve rather.
