To think it's rude to asking how much it costs?

I've had cosmetic surgery and it's something very noticeable. I'm very open with it but I'm sick of the first question being - how much did it cost??

OP I think I would ask "why do you ask, are you considering it yourself?"
And if they say "no I'm just being nosy" just say "well it's none of your business then" with a big grin Grin

It's a bit off to say "I don't mind telling people through pm though" and then when people ask for pms to say you don't want to. Obviously you're totally entitled to share what you want but this is a bit vaguebook attention seeking for me.

Why is it rude? If someone has a new dress and I think I might like a similar one I'll ask where it's from and if that doesn't give me an idea of the price I might ask how much it was. It's not like asking someone how much they earn.

this 100% with bells on - i think i'll just hide this thread as i cant bear the attention seeking - why is it ok to share on a PM with random strangers, but not on an internet forum (where you started the bloody thread in the first place)
