Not quite sure if my reaction is justified to be honest. Have just been in a conversation with a psychologist friend about feminism, trans issues and various theories of the advantages of gender rolls in evolutionary theory etc - wide ranging and pretty interesting as we are both gender critical but have differing views on biological aspects. He however raised the issue of late transitioning autogynaphils and how part of the fetish is being acknowledged as female/feminine/sexually attractive. I was sort of aware of autogynaphila but didnt honestly click what it ment or that it was a sexual fetish rather than an identity issue.
On Facebook I am member of Mrs Gloss a make up group and it's just occurred to me that its actually being used on occasion by autogynaphils to fuel their sexual fetishes if what he says is correct and it's really freaked me out to be honest.

Yes I'm sure female roller derby players appreciate that you personally don't see the point of it. It's nice of you to merrily throw them under the bus though.

Roller Derby is important for a number of reasons

It is one of the few "womens sports" where women are prevalent at organisational level! Women actually for once had something for women run by women and that's rare in sport! But the one thing that wasn't "for women" but actually run by men has been adopted by transwomen as their sort of "poster sport". We're not allowed one fucking thing that's actually "for women" FFS!

It has significant misogyny to fight re workplaces refusing sick pay for derby players when same organisations pay sick pay for male dominated contact sport. This makes it EXTRA important that risk of injury is reduced, competing against males doesn't help that cause. Note: you are NOT likely to see many transmen in male derby teams for this reason, they stick to co-ed bouts which are more "Friendly"

The trans take-over of Derby is important even if like me you would rather clean the bog than take part!

teams which even discuss the injury risk of males vs females are attacked by TRAs. It matters for all sorts of reasons, let alone that nobody wants to be injured, but also insurance costs and fighting for sick pay etc.
