Just had war with my next door neighbour.

I posted a thread here last week about Neighbours dogs coming into my garden- shifting everywhere, harassing my two and digging up flower beds.

General consensus was to board up the hole in the fence between our own gardens- which I did do. I also posted a receipt from the garden last weekend from the plants I had brought that her dogs dug up just hours after I planted them with a note explaining that as they had damaged my garden, could she please drop the cash in to go and replace the plants.

Neighbour returned from holiday last night and nothing was said. Went out this morning with the DC and have come back to find the fence panel has been taken out- so a) they have entered my property without permission as it was nailed in from my side (yes I probably shouldn't leave the gate unlocked) and b) have damaged something else of mine. Dogs have been in the garden again as well as DD stood in a dog shit on the patio.

Anyway went and knocked on neighbours door and produced her with the receipt for the fence panel as well. She ranted and raved at me, spat in my face and slammed the door in my face.

She has now gone out and left her mutts dogs in the garden so no doubt we will get a visit again from them this afternoon.

Op rang 101 and may well be talking to police now...

SnugglyBedSocks · 07/04/2017 19:04

Any update?

pickleypockley · 07/04/2017 19:06

Leave your gate open and let the dogs escape then ring the dog warden.

FairytalesAreBullshit · 07/04/2017 19:12

Hopefully they'll be able to advise you further, as it's damage to your property.

EweAreHere · 07/04/2017 19:20

I hope you've called the dog warden as well as the police.

If they're in your garden, have them picked up.

Return their shit; chuck it over the fence and scatter it over her back garden.

She is vile. She has refused to pay for damages her dogs and she has caused, spewed abuse at you, spat at you, entered your property to unblock the fence so the dogs could keep coming into your garden, allowed her dogs to continually shit in your garden, dig up your plants and harass your dogs in their own garden!!

Police and dog warden. Every single time.

Rainbow1987 · 07/04/2017 19:21

Leaving gate open is just asking for trouble! Could you live with the guilt if they caused an accident to someone/themselves?!
Hope police have been in touch with advice on where to take it from here.
I second putting the poo on her doorstep. X

Nanny0gg · 07/04/2017 19:21

Why are people suggesting letting the dogs out?

a) It's not their fault
b) they could bite someone
c) they could cause an accident
d) they could be hurt

Use some sense people!
Wait for the dog warden.

What a dirty cow!! I'm glad you've phoned the police. I'd also try to find out who she rents the property through and contact them. A lot of private lets don't allow pets, and as she's a dirty cow I'd not be sorry if they evicted her for it.

Can you afford to replace the whole fence panel? Is it your fence or hers? If hers, then the LL should replace it, so another reason to try to contact them.

Re the dogs, I don't know if there's anything you can do immediately sorry. You can definitely claim for damages to your property though as it's the owners responsibility.

Ihatethedailymail1 · 07/04/2017 19:38

prettybird your dh has broken the law telling you what happened on HIS jury service and you have by putting it on a public forum. You should get that removed.

hmcAsWas · 07/04/2017 19:41

Oh don't be so dramatic - no names were mentioned. Not an identifiable case. Sheesh!

Ihatethedailymail1 · 07/04/2017 19:42

You don't get to choose which bits of the law you fancy keeping and which bits you don't.
If someone knew the poster, knew her dh, and knew when he did it, then it can be identifiable.
These rules are there for a reason. .

notcreative23 · 07/04/2017 19:44

@Ihatethedailymail1 that seems like a bit of a stretch...Confused

AdoraBell · 07/04/2017 19:45

Get some kind of reference from Police, crime number or whatever they do for reporting this. Contact the LL with the crime number making it clear that you've needed to involve Police.

Call dog warden re her dogs in your garden. Do this every time they come into your garden. The council will get involved re antisocial behaviour.

Ihatethedailymail1 · 07/04/2017 19:54

It's not likely that you'll crash your car and kill your kids, ...... Yet do you put them in car seats as it's the law?

FataliePorkman · 07/04/2017 20:33

Hi everyone sorry for the delay in update!

Police came round- lovely guy who took a statement from me and looked in the garden. They tried to knock at neighbours house but she has been out since the incident but they have assured me they will be following it up and to call back if there are further issues. He gave me a crime reference number.

I put the dogs in the outdoor pen and they are still there. RSPCA weren't interested, nor was the dog warden or our local animal shelter. If she isn't back by 9pm I will be calling one in the next town and saying I found them abandoned.

Pretty pissed off right now.

DriftingDreamer · 07/04/2017 20:36

Is she going to cause you hassle cos dogs in your pen?
Glad police took matter seriously.

debbs77 · 07/04/2017 20:36

Blimey what a nightmare!

Rainbunny · 07/04/2017 20:45

OP I echo what someone said upthread -if you can find out who the landlord is contact them about the ndn and also the fence since the landlord could be made to fix it.

DartmoorDoughnut · 07/04/2017 21:46

Hope she's collected her dogs and apologised

prettybird · 07/04/2017 21:50

ihatethedailymail - I have said nothing about what went on in the jury room. I have only said what the judgement was and what one of the offences was described as. Nothing illegal about that. It was an open court room and the judgement was reported in the evening paper (and also in more detail the wee paper that many local lawyers subscribe to including a friend of ours) I have described less than what was in print.

HappyFlappy · 07/04/2017 21:54

His dad?

Yep. What's wrong with that?

londonrach · 07/04/2017 21:57

Update?

ZilphasHatpin · 07/04/2017 22:01

Yep, that's an update. Grin

NonsensicalNonsense · 07/04/2017 22:04

OP tell us more! Has she got home yet?

dailystuck71 · 07/04/2017 22:13

Glad the police were able to help.
