Just had war with my next door neighbour.

I posted a thread here last week about Neighbours dogs coming into my garden- shifting everywhere, harassing my two and digging up flower beds.

General consensus was to board up the hole in the fence between our own gardens- which I did do. I also posted a receipt from the garden last weekend from the plants I had brought that her dogs dug up just hours after I planted them with a note explaining that as they had damaged my garden, could she please drop the cash in to go and replace the plants.

Neighbour returned from holiday last night and nothing was said. Went out this morning with the DC and have come back to find the fence panel has been taken out- so a) they have entered my property without permission as it was nailed in from my side (yes I probably shouldn't leave the gate unlocked) and b) have damaged something else of mine. Dogs have been in the garden again as well as DD stood in a dog shit on the patio.

Anyway went and knocked on neighbours door and produced her with the receipt for the fence panel as well. She ranted and raved at me, spat in my face and slammed the door in my face.

She has now gone out and left her mutts dogs in the garden so no doubt we will get a visit again from them this afternoon.

Xpost punt!

WellErrr · 10/04/2017 14:51

Poor dogs! I'd have done the same.

ASDismynormality · 10/04/2017 14:52

How odd of her not to collect the dogs. Perhaps that's why she unblocked the hole in the fence, she wanted you to dig sit!

MiddleClassProblem · 10/04/2017 14:56

Wow. When you think about how little she cares about you and then see actually how little she cares about the dogs it's crazy. She'll only have a week to claim them before they legally become the rescues. I hope they get a good home and she gets shifted on.

I wonder if her no return is if she had read this and has shame faces stuck her head in the sand and snuck off.

catsarenice · 10/04/2017 14:57

Not read entire thread so apologies if this has been covered, but has she definitely gone away? Could she be collapsed in her house?

LittleGreyMeow · 10/04/2017 15:00

Sounds like she opened up the fence panel so you would take on the dogs

Sounds like she's done an old fashioned moonlight flit to me :)

kali110 · 10/04/2017 15:18

Omg! I was thinking you'd just took the dogs, but she's left them for 3 days?? Who did she think was looking after them?

Chippednailvarnishing · 10/04/2017 15:19

Fingers crossed she never comes back!
Poor dogs.

AddToBasket · 10/04/2017 15:21

Ring the Police. This really is not one for you to sort out.

That said, you shouldn't have posted the receipt for the plants through her letter box. That was inflammatory. Board up the fence again. Keep both receipts.

That is awful that she sjust left the dogs - although they are prob better of without her.

emmyhNL · 10/04/2017 18:45

Good point by cats. Is she definitely not in her house?

DartmoorDoughnut · 10/04/2017 22:17

Those poor dogs! Glad you managed to find a rescue space for them

Mummyoflittledragon · 10/04/2017 22:32

Seeing as she dumped the dogs like this and judging by her attitude and behaviour she's probably got mental health issues. Poor dogs.

ChangelingToday · 11/04/2017 09:59

I wonder has she been in trouble with the police before, would that be why she ran off.

Any news?

LexieLulu · 11/04/2017 23:13

I kinda hope your neighbour is ok Confused let us know if anything happens

modelcat · 12/04/2017 07:30

This is a horrible situation :( your neighbour sounds vile.

Just to point out - the RSPCA can't legally do anything unless there's an animal welfare law being broken, which it doesn't sound like there is. So it's not that they are not interested, they couldn't actually do anything in this situation (unless I missed something about the dogs being neglected?). The dog warden legally is responsible for strays, not the RSPCA - they should have taken responsibility for the dogs if they were straying onto your property. Not sure why they've said it's not their responsibility.

modelcat · 12/04/2017 07:32

Although I've just seen that the neighbour hasn't been back, which means they have been abandoned. Poor dogs :(. Glad they are in a rescue now.

MiscellaneousAssortment · 15/04/2017 01:29

How weird, is her stuff still in the house? Did she ever reclaim the dogs? Most odd!
