Just had war with my next door neighbour.

I posted a thread here last week about Neighbours dogs coming into my garden- shifting everywhere, harassing my two and digging up flower beds.

General consensus was to board up the hole in the fence between our own gardens- which I did do. I also posted a receipt from the garden last weekend from the plants I had brought that her dogs dug up just hours after I planted them with a note explaining that as they had damaged my garden, could she please drop the cash in to go and replace the plants.

Neighbour returned from holiday last night and nothing was said. Went out this morning with the DC and have come back to find the fence panel has been taken out- so a) they have entered my property without permission as it was nailed in from my side (yes I probably shouldn't leave the gate unlocked) and b) have damaged something else of mine. Dogs have been in the garden again as well as DD stood in a dog shit on the patio.

Anyway went and knocked on neighbours door and produced her with the receipt for the fence panel as well. She ranted and raved at me, spat in my face and slammed the door in my face.

She has now gone out and left her mutts dogs in the garden so no doubt we will get a visit again from them this afternoon.

Yes to calling her landlord and making a case there about the damage their tenant has caused.

Bunnyfuller · 09/04/2017 01:09

Criminal damage, assault and if she was swearing at you, a nice little Section 4a public order. But without any evidence other than your statement, unlikely to go anywhere. Worth logging it tho. Be mindful tho, police visits rarely calm these nutters down!

MintyChops · 09/04/2017 03:28

Did she come for her dogs OP?

ScissorBow · 09/04/2017 08:47

kali I'm amazed people have dogs then complain about the shit/mess but I can see how bullying someone else to make it their problem is one solution. Just seems bizarre to make an effort to remove the fence panel to continue the issue. Really nasty stuff.

If NDN won't fix the panel and won't allow you to her landlord must be the person who fixes it.

ChangelingToday · 09/04/2017 09:06

Bit concerned how ndn has/might have reacted when they came home to find the dogs in the pen. She sounds unpredictable, I hope you're ok!

hmbn · 09/04/2017 09:24

Her behaviour is totally unacceptable. However, she sounds like someone who cannot be reasoned with so whatever you do may be futile. Some people think they're right about everything and have a right to behave as they want - translate this to driving and there are 5 road deaths each day due to dangerous driving.

I'd be inclined to ring the Police Community Support Officer for your area as a first line of attack; you may need the Police later if you need more impact!

The difficulty in this situation is that you have to live next door and, from personal experience, I can say that it's very difficult when you don't get on with your neighbours - it seems to pervade all aspects of your life - even if you know that you're the one who's been wronged.

Think well about the consequences of any actions; she's proved herself unreasonable and you don't know what she may come up with next. At the end of the day trust that what 'goes around, comes around'!

Hope you are OK this morning OP x

Bestthingever · 09/04/2017 09:43

Why was the dog warden not interested? How strange.

MILLYmo0se · 09/04/2017 09:52

Why would they be interested though bestthingever? The dogs arent strays, the owner is known and they are secure in a garden -the dog warden isnt going to be dragged into a row between neighbours its not their job.
If the OP wasnt a dog lover and let the poor animals out the gate to roam THEN the dog warden would become involved Id imagine.

Bestthingever · 09/04/2017 09:53

I'm not sure of the law but there are running around unsupervised. Is that actually ok? I really know nothing about it.

yesnowplease · 09/04/2017 10:01

What happened OP? She sounds vile.

insancerre · 09/04/2017 10:08

hope she has collected her dogs and apologised

Goodasgoldilox · 09/04/2017 11:32

Hope this is already resolved.

However - don't throw dog shit back (much as it seems justified) as this puts you in the wrong.

Do stack it up by the hole in the fence - and keep it nice and damp until the hole is dealt with.

ADayGivingMeHope · 09/04/2017 18:07

@FataliePorkman did she get the dogs?
Any updates? 🤔

Poshsausage · 09/04/2017 18:36

Definitely cctv this is likely to escalate

Birdsgottaf1y · 09/04/2017 18:47

""If she rents you can call the LA who can serve an ASBO.""

Anyone who commits anti-social behaviour can be served an ASBO, it's got nothing to do with renting.

It's a matter for the Police, the dogs are out of control in the OPs garden. They'd have to be in the street for the dog warden to get involved.

Cluesue · 09/04/2017 18:57

Revolting woman, hope police charge her and you can sort something about dogs

SnugglyBedSocks · 09/04/2017 23:13

Have the neighbours been home since tbey released the dogs?

Maybe this was a plan to get someone to look after them whilst they went away. Why else would you purposely remove the panel Confused

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 09/04/2017 23:26

Just read the entire thread. Hope you're ok, OP.

Goodfood1 · 10/04/2017 08:06

Hope all's ok OK Update pls

MyfatheristheKing · 10/04/2017 08:21

Hope you are ok OP

FataliePorkman · 10/04/2017 14:28

Hi everyone. Sorry I never updated yesterday I had a super busy day.

Neighbour never came back for the dogs so ended up having to take them to someone local I found on FB who has an animal rescue. She hasn't been home since the incident the other day.

Police knocked yesterday to ask if anything else had happened- but nothing.

Also found out who her housing association was and have contacted them and they said they would be in touch if they needed another chat.

Nothing more exciting than that I'm afraid!

SideOrderofSprouts · 10/04/2017 14:47

Makes you wonder if she wanted the dogs at all!

PuntCuffin · 10/04/2017 14:49

So she has not been home for nigh on 3 days, leaving her dogs? Shock Angry
Wonder who the hell she thinks is looking after them?
She must know she crossed several lines and that the police would be in touch.

ZilphasHatpin · 10/04/2017 14:51

Hang on, so she has gone away for at least 3 nights and made no provisions for her dogs?? Shock who was she expecting would feed them while she was away? Were they just supposed to scavenge for food?
