To not really get why folk have threesomes

It just seems like a lot of work

I'd rather Mumsnet.

Am I right or am I missing out?

It's one of those things that I quite liked the idea of, in theory.

But then I couldn't do it now (I couldn't share DP with anyone) and it all seems like an awful lot of planning and effort.

I struggle with deciding what to cook for dinner every night, let alone who puts what where, with who, and when. It would be like Sexual Masterchef - hot, sweaty, awkward and stressful and nobody is ever really satisfied.

WarwickDavisAsPlates · 06/04/2017 16:26

I know diagrams are usually for parking threads but for those interested in the positions...

WarwickDavisAsPlates · 06/04/2017 16:27

Two more.

catgirl1976 · 06/04/2017 16:27

I've had one or two in my youth (a very long time ago) and a foursome once

It was alright. But awkward and a bit odd and uncomfortable. Faffy.

I think one of those where the fantasy is better than the reality.

I couldn't be arsed now. Even in the unlikely event of 2 people wanting to shag me :) I too would rather MN and have a nice cup of tea. God you'd have to shave your legs and everything. No thank you.

Valentine2 · 06/04/2017 16:29

I am a fucking hypocrite. While I would love to try a two men scenario (one being DH essentially), I would be so jealous if it's another woman there unless I know what I will be getting.
I think I would stick to my twosomes. Grin

FrenchLavender · 06/04/2017 16:31

I can't even really be bothered with a twosome if I'm honest.

Haha, no me neither. I'd rather watch Broadchurch with a packet of Digestives and my feet on the dog.

The thought of a threesome actually makes me shudder with horror.

Valentine2 · 06/04/2017 16:34

Twosome versus telly! Oh the shock, the horror! Shock

iloveeverykindofcat · 06/04/2017 16:34

I suspect the exploration of bisexuality is a fairly big reason generally.

It was in my case. I was young, it was fun and quite silly.

Oldraver · 06/04/2017 16:35

Why stop at three ?

Anyway..In my younger years I've partaken in a number of varieties..three woman, two women one man, two men and me etc. It is fun but can be hard work. The best combo is for all to be bi-sexual

I just cant be arsed nowadays

FrenchLavender · 06/04/2017 16:35

It was alright. But awkward and a bit odd and uncomfortable. Faffy.

Exactly. I knew it. Thank you.

That would be my greatest fear, I couldn't bear the awkward embarrassment while everyone worked out what end of who went where. Confused

I get embarrassed watching orgy scenes on TV as well. Can't stand it. Two people only and no audience for me thanks.

Valentine2 · 06/04/2017 16:36

You filthy Mumsnetter. I need to now check with DH the time he is leaving work and whether his really hot collegue is up for a threesome .
It's a hot day afterall. Grin

lemondriftwood · 06/04/2017 16:37

I was persuaded into two with my husband years ago when I was a lot younger. It was one of the most awful experiences of my life. I shall never repeat it.

Oldraver · 06/04/2017 16:38

well i suppose if it's a threesome one of them could tag you out and you could have a five minute browse. Did you mean snooze ?

I once fell asleep and woke to find my new boyfriend gently whipping an ex...I went back to sleep

Lesley1980 · 06/04/2017 16:39

I've known a few girls that have had threesomes in their younger days & it has always been something the guy wanted & they just went along with it. Always with the hot girl the guy happened to fancy & never a sexy well hung man.

No, not diagrams! Too much! I'll be wanting to bleach my retinas now.

ForTheSakeOfFuck · 06/04/2017 16:43

Just... so many arms and legs... Figuring out how to not get twelve limbs tied in knots alone sounds like way too much effort.

WorraLiberty · 06/04/2017 16:43

Surely it's possible to Mumsnet and have a threesome at the same time.

I mean what with the mobile app and everything.

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 06/04/2017 16:43

I like it.

But then again, my OH is kind of bi and I'm "very" bi (I mean, I've had loving and sexual relationships with both men and women)...

Maybe the fact that both of us are attracted to the 3rd person is what makes it "good"?

noeffingidea · 06/04/2017 16:45

Would have been up for trying a threesome in my younger days, but it never happened. Would have had to be 2 men and me though, I have no interest in any kind of sexual activity with another woman.
It's just one of those things, OP. Different people like different things. As long as everyone's happy then good for them.

TomaytoTomahto · 06/04/2017 16:46

I personally am selfish and not a fan of sharing.

handslikecowstits · 06/04/2017 16:46

I'd love to have a threesome with two men. Not bothered about the other woman. I've tried lesbian sex. Wasn't for me.

TWOBANANAS · 06/04/2017 16:47

They are good fun. Very good fun.

PeachPants · 06/04/2017 16:49

Agree with everything MaidofStars says.

Except I would hate DH to touch or see another woman, so basically it's just the lesbian sex for me... Grin
