Found my dream dress today...it's over my budget by £800 but I'm not sure if my budget was U to start with as I seemed underestimate how much they cost!
How much was your dress?

£550 plus about £100 alterations nearly 3 years ago. It was an end of line.

wonkylegs · 01/04/2017 14:10

Mine was over 10yrs ago, wedding paid for by us alone and we didn't have to borrow to pay for it, which would have influenced how much I spent

NotYoda · 01/04/2017 14:10

I wore it to get married in, so it was a wedding dress.

Coldilox · 01/04/2017 14:10

About £200ish. Not a wedding dress, it was a silver beaded dress from Karen Millen.

MaisyPops · 01/04/2017 14:11

£300
Got mine in a sample sale.
No way i could havr justified more.

NisekoWhistler · 01/04/2017 14:11

£240 second hand in 2015

Greyhound81 · 01/04/2017 14:12

£180 second hand. I think they're £375 new.

Foslady · 01/04/2017 14:12

1986 - £500 on the sale rail
2009 - £500 paid for me and 4 bridesmaids!

maitaimojito · 01/04/2017 14:17

£2,000. I didn't set out to spend this much but I'd tried on loads of cheaper ones and knew this one was worth the money when I put it on. You can really tell the difference in fabric and quality and I didn't want a big, layered, princess style dress which seemed to dominate the rails of the cheaper bridal shops.

kaputt · 01/04/2017 14:18

£15, charity shop.

tb · 01/04/2017 14:19

£4.95 for 5m of poly cotton - it was in 1977!

chanceofrain · 01/04/2017 14:21

£200 including alterations and shipping (I bought it online from a bridal warehouse type place), a few years ago. My main concern was how it would look in pictures as that's the only thing about it that still matters after the day itself is over. It was pretty cheap material but gave me a nice shape and looks gorgeous in all the pics. Then I got it dry cleaned and donated it.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 01/04/2017 14:22

£125

Works out at about £4 per year of marriage

Mamabear14 · 01/04/2017 14:24

First wedding was £400 from China. Getting married next year and dress was £1450, need to get an underskirt and alterations will be around £200. Headband was £80 and shoes £90. I love my dress as I wanted sleeves and a high back which are seemingly almost impossible to have both!

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 01/04/2017 14:24

£325 & £40 for alterations, it's a very simple dress but gorgeous & I adore it.

ChubbyMummy12 · 01/04/2017 14:24

£350 in the sale down from £1200, and £150 on alterations Smile

alltouchedout · 01/04/2017 14:25

£120 (in 2005). It was the only one I liked!

scaryteacher · 01/04/2017 14:26

£128 in 1986, about £4.26 per year of marriage.

KayTee87 · 01/04/2017 14:27

Whole outfit; dress, underskirt, veil, tiara, shoes, alterations = approx £2k I think

shocklate · 01/04/2017 14:27

Can't remember exactly but approx £60-£80. It wasn't a traditional one.

NotYoda · 01/04/2017 14:27

Breakfast

£2.50 a year here!

NoParticularPattern · 01/04/2017 14:30

£1300 plus alterations. Not work it yet- 15 weeks to go and I cannot wait. Not sure if I'm more excited to wear the dress all day or get married Hmm

makemineadoubleplease · 01/04/2017 14:31

£500 end of season sample with a few tiny marks... it was a lovely dress.

I tried on some shockingly ugly dresses that were over £5k... unbelievable!

Glitteryfrog · 01/04/2017 14:33

£300 + £50 to be shortened.
It's not a 'wedding' dress, but I love it.

SpreadYourHappiness · 01/04/2017 14:36

£1,200. It was a Maggie Sotterro dress and absolutely stunning.
