Found my dream dress today...it's over my budget by £800 but I'm not sure if my budget was U to start with as I seemed underestimate how much they cost!
How much was your dress?

£65 (2004)for fabric and then my granddad (not a tailor) made it for me.
Pattern cam from the fancy dress section of a pattern catalogue not that you'd know!! I looked very bridal.

elpinguino · 01/04/2017 15:03

MelinaMercury · 01/04/2017 15:04

£29.99.

I've worn it twice since and still love it :)

Fabrics, boning and thread +/- £100
The work I did myself = priceless

actino · 01/04/2017 15:05

$100 total for two high street brand dresses. We had a non-traditional ceremony :)

VodkaLimeSoda27 · 01/04/2017 15:07

£450 for the dress, and another £180 for alterations last year

ghostyslovesheets · 01/04/2017 15:10

£160 in a sale in 2001 - I loved it

Apanicaday · 01/04/2017 15:11

£200 in a wedding shop sale 10 years ago. It went to Oxfam afterwards.

BonjourMinou · 01/04/2017 15:13

1k plus £200 alterations plus £125 for veil. I think. Coming up to 5 years ago. I wanted the perfect dress and I'm so glad I didn't scrimp. It was absolutely beautiful.

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 01/04/2017 15:15

First one ten years ago was £800/£900, with alterations.
One I'm wearing this time round was under£20 and it feels more ",me"
If you've got it spend it if you don't then don't. DM bought 1st one and essentially i had the wedding she dreamed of.

Purplepixiedust · 01/04/2017 15:16

£80 from debenhams debut range. My underwear cost more Grin

foxessocks · 01/04/2017 15:17

£1000 or thereabouts

PortiaCastis · 01/04/2017 15:18

£200 in a sale 17years ago. Rightly or wrongly I set fire to the bugger at my Mum's and ruined her lawn.

thecolonelbumminganugget · 01/04/2017 15:20

About 2.5k for dress plus alterations. With, veil, shoes, undercrackers etc about 3k all in. Loved it from the start then spend about 6 months going round the houses trying on what felt like every dress in England before returning to the original dress. Go with your gut, you will be forever comparing and nothing else will live up to it!

greeeen · 01/04/2017 15:20

£3k don't regret it at all!

isseywithcats · 01/04/2017 15:22

£50 about 11 years ago but it was a wedding shop that was closing down and it was an ex hire dress, i altered it myself by taking the horrible sleeves off it taking out some of the pouffe (netting under the skirt ) and shortening it as it was too long

WaitrosePigeon · 01/04/2017 15:22

£80 eBay. It was a replica of a 3K dress. It was perfect.

firsttimeoptimist · 01/04/2017 15:26

750 plus alterations. Was a 'worn once' designer dress with lots of silk, beadwork and french lace.

Firsttimeandclueless · 01/04/2017 15:26

Roughly about £2,200. Included veil, alterations and underwear.

flummoxedworried · 01/04/2017 15:26

£150 15 years ago.

crazywriter · 01/04/2017 15:27

£100 including alterations. I wanted a dress with a 16th century style if I'd gone for my second choice it would have been around the £50 mark. Our whole wedding was on a student budget.

MulderitsmeX · 01/04/2017 15:27

About 3k last year, I love it so much, I am the only UK bride to have it and loved the unique-ness. I just wish I could wear it everyday, not sure it would go down well in the office.

I tried on a 10k Berta which was gorgeous but too much £ unfortunately!!

I plan to lend my veil as my sis' "something borrowed"

19lottie82 · 01/04/2017 15:28

£220 I think in the Phase eight sale.

M00nUnit · 01/04/2017 15:29

£399 in 2013 from Monsoon. It fit me perfectly and I felt amazing in it. It was perfect for my beach wedding (with no guests).

user1483387154 · 01/04/2017 15:30

£1300 2 years ago. It was a Sophia Tolli
