Found my dream dress today...it's over my budget by £800 but I'm not sure if my budget was U to start with as I seemed underestimate how much they cost!
How much was your dress?

Around £2500, it was 10 years ago, I had very specific requirements for my dress, (church wedding and huge breasts, so I wanted "sleeves" and the dress with the help of a minimising bra to make it appear smaller mainly)... I don't remember having a "budget" for a dress in mind, and I didn't know the price before realising I'd found "the one", but I still believe this would have been cheaper than having a wedding dress "custom made" or designed specifically for me...

£250 in 1994. New.
Was massively under-budget, but was exactly the dress I wanted Smile
It made me feel like a goddess all day... Sigh...

£235, bought online. Am yet to have it altered but estimated to be about £100-150

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 14/01/2020 06:58

£400 plus alterations. It would have been £1k but it was a sample and also in the sale.

8 years ago. Around £800 then £150 for alterations to bra and a bolero in same fabric. Gave it to charity afterwards, still have the bolero though. Happy day.

I had two as in my home country you have to be married in your town hall before you can marry in church.
My first one for the first wedding cost £18 and my second one for the church wedding cost £340 including the veil, train and underskirt.

FilthyforFirth · 14/01/2020 07:29

£1500 in 2016, which was way more than I wanted to spend but I loved it! Veil was £250, don't remember alterations...

Less than £200. We weren’t v well off back then but unless you really have the money I think spending £100’s on something you’ll where once is madness. Just my opinion though Smile

HunterAngel · 14/01/2020 07:35

£450 then £50 of alterations. Mine was a discontinued design so was on sale.

CaptainButtock · 14/01/2020 07:41

£110 + £6 postage. ASOS.

asparagusnextleft5 · 14/01/2020 07:43

It was 22 years ago, but it cost £360 (after 10% discount, was priced at £400)
Still the most expensive item I've ever owned!

Insideimsprinting · 14/01/2020 07:49

14 yrs ago from monsoon about £230ish.
Looked at other ones from bridal shops and hated them all and they seemed expensive and faffy.
Monsoon one was simple very reasonably priced and I just felt fab in it. My sister found one in the Sale there to about 10yr ago she got it for £40 she looked amazing in it too.
Makes me sceptical about paying more fore certain things now.

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 14/01/2020 08:01

£350 including alterations. I was lucky to find a shop which stocked ex display/ discontinued dresses.

NibbleOnThat · 14/01/2020 08:13

£500 plus £70 alterations.

I had tried the dress on in a bridal store (price was £1200) then found it on Stillwhite.com in the next size down and had it taken out a touch Smile
