Found my dream dress today...it's over my budget by £800 but I'm not sure if my budget was U to start with as I seemed underestimate how much they cost!
How much was your dress?

£70 in the sale from debenhams wedding collection, in the sale, think it was £200 originally.

EllaHen · 01/04/2017 13:41

It was priced £500 but I paid £450 as I took out (and then cancelled) a store card.

I loved it.

I am Shock at some of the prices on this thread.

Archedbrowse · 01/04/2017 13:41

£300 plus alterations. Was a 'proper' wedding dress from bridal shop but vastly reduced in their sale. I loved the dress and would have chosen it anyway, the discount was an added bonus (and a very welcome one don't get me wrong!)

BeansMcCready · 01/04/2017 13:42

£250 from Oxfam

Greatwhiteworld · 01/04/2017 13:43

£60 custom design made to measure. It came from China (eBay) it was perfect

I sent him pictures of dresses I liked

EleanorAbernathy · 01/04/2017 13:43

£250 from a dressmaker I found online - I love it and got many compliments on the day!

fishfingerSarnies · 01/04/2017 13:44

£500 from eBay then alterations but can't remember what that cost.

Fancythat69 · 01/04/2017 13:44

£660 -no alterations needed

Noodledoodledoo · 01/04/2017 13:44

£800 plus alterations. Budget was about £1k including everything. Borrrowed veil, cheap tiara and shoes from BHS, wrap (was winter) from Debenhams.

LadyFlumpalot · 01/04/2017 13:44

£948. The lower end of the price range in the shop! I would like to see pictures of the 6k and 9k dresses!! I work for a tailoress who makes couture wedding dresses and some of fabrics used are amazing. One dress has over 3k of just lace in it!

BizzyFizzy · 01/04/2017 13:45

£70

bakewellfizz · 01/04/2017 13:45

£1500 including alterations etc. That might also have included the veil but I can't remember...

MiniAlphaBravo · 01/04/2017 13:45

£300 plus alterations (can't remember the cost). Lots of money on other parts of the outfit also. I just couldn't justify spending north of £1k on something I would never wear again.

Mu123 · 01/04/2017 13:45

33 bhs sale

user1486504659 · 01/04/2017 13:45

The one I've seen is £1900 so maybe I need to shop around although it was absolutely amazing with a lot of detail

About $550AU including underskirt and alterations.

Will admit it was from a knock off site - sent picture of $2000 dress which I liked and tried on in a shop and it was made for me in China. Back before they were all the rage and churning out rubbish dresses.

MsAwesomeDragon · 01/04/2017 13:47

Mine cost £30, with another £50 spent on underwear.

I'm unusual though, we did very cheap and cheerful, went to a pub afterwards, etc.

I DEFINITELY wouldn't be spending thousands on a wedding dress, no matter how perfect it is. I could buy a car for that sort of money, which i would get a ton more use out of.

BaronessBomburst · 01/04/2017 13:47

Fabric was about £70, then MIL made it for me. I think it was the proudest moment of her life.
Shoes were £6 as ex-display.
This was in 1998.

Peachesandcream15 · 01/04/2017 13:47

£1800

Chinnygirl · 01/04/2017 13:49

40 euro and have worn it for years. DP loves it so much that he wants to see me as a bride in it. I cancelled the dress that I had selected myself

BackforGood · 01/04/2017 13:49

About £100 for materials and then gave £100 to friend who made it for me

Babbaganush · 01/04/2017 13:49

£200 for fabric, I made it myself (12 years ago)

DiscoSloth · 01/04/2017 13:49

£375 - in the sale. First dress I tried on, fitted like a glove, no alterations needed.

3boys3dogshelp · 01/04/2017 13:51

£720, then all the alterations were done for free by the shop.

alphabetti91 · 01/04/2017 13:51

£2.5k
My budget was £2k but I fell in love Grin
