Found my dream dress today...it's over my budget by £800 but I'm not sure if my budget was U to start with as I seemed underestimate how much they cost!

£350 13 years ago and that seemed a lot! My DM was going to make mine as she had my both Sister's, but had just been diagnosed with Cancer and wasn't well enough. Wedding arranged booked, sorted and we were married 6 weeks later. Everyone pulled together and we had as lovely a day as if we had spent £1,000s.

Tiptoethr0ughthetulips · 01/04/2017 13:54

£1050 4 years ago an extra £100 for veil and about another £100 on alterations.

Licketysplits · 01/04/2017 13:56

£125 from house of fraser!

bakingdiva · 01/04/2017 13:56

I had a budget of up to £2k, and then found my dream dress for £600 + alterations.....I was very pleased!

£400 in 1992. Still happily married but the dress and the day are far from the "best day of my life". I wouldn't do it again

AVY1 · 01/04/2017 13:58

£800 two years ago (should have been £1000)

Alterations were £60

CaptainHammer · 01/04/2017 13:59

4 years ago £550

Tried on some that ranged from £550-£2700 and, for a change, fell in love with the cheapest one

Pigface1 · 01/04/2017 13:59

About £2k plus alterations.

CoolCarrie · 01/04/2017 13:59

£600 on sale in wedding shop, £100 in alterations, £50 on Irregular Choice boots from eBay, £50 on underwear, £25 on headdress

£220.

It was the dress of my dreams. I was just lucky I liked the ones from the cheaper rails in the shop!

Justanothernameonthepage · 01/04/2017 14:00

£400 - was from the oxfam bridal shop with shop tag still on it (£3200).

MrsELM21 · 01/04/2017 14:00

£800 in 2010

Crumbs1 · 01/04/2017 14:01

£9, 000 who pays that for a dress (apart from Duchesse of Cambridge). Mine was £2, 000 25 years ago including veil and shoes.

treaclesoda · 01/04/2017 14:01

£500 but it was almost 20 years ago

LadyLoveYourWhat · 01/04/2017 14:02

About £120 from Coast, I felt beautiful, it wasn't a traditional wedding dress though. The whole wedding was under £5k including the honeymoon, but we only had 60 guests for our wedding breakfast and catered the evening do ourselves in a village hall. It was ace, but I didn't want to spend a fortune on it, it's only one day, it's the marriage that's the important bit! I often think it's a bit like wanting the "perfect" birth, when it's what comes afterwards that really matters.

Fibbertigibbet · 01/04/2017 14:03

£50 from eBay.

Newbiecat · 01/04/2017 14:05

£800 in 2009 and I thought that was expensive!

HelenaWay · 01/04/2017 14:06

12K

IrregularCommentary · 01/04/2017 14:08

£700, though it was in the sale. Around £1.5k full price I think. That was 4yrs ago.

wonkylegs · 01/04/2017 14:08

£1100 including alterations (I'm very short)

NotYoda · 01/04/2017 14:08

£50

Comedyusername · 01/04/2017 14:09

£1,000 - Was lovely and fitted perfectly, but seems excessive looking back 8 years. Now just sitting in a box Sad

splendide · 01/04/2017 14:09

£60

Shoes were £90 and hat was £70 though.

BonjourMeDarlin · 01/04/2017 14:09

£300 and I just didn't eat for 6 weeks to fit in it.
