Found my dream dress today...it's over my budget by £800 but I'm not sure if my budget was U to start with as I seemed underestimate how much they cost!
How much was your dress?

£2600, it was made for me though so I don’t begrudge it.

I've just realised that... and I fell for it. Blush

GeminiRising · 13/01/2020 14:33

Just buying my daughter's and its £800 excluding alterations.

HariboLectar · 13/01/2020 16:02

£75 BNWT from Ebay - only a Monsoon dress but it was exactly the style I was after Grin

HariboLectar · 13/01/2020 16:02

Oops didn't realise it was a zombie thread Blush

AryaStarkWolf · 13/01/2020 16:04

Someone on page 1 spent 9k on a dress, eek what a waste

crispysausagerolls · 13/01/2020 16:09

About 15k (20ish including veil, jewellery and shoes) - was Couture.

crispysausagerolls · 13/01/2020 16:09

Ah fuck, Zombie!

Bezalelle · 13/01/2020 16:10

Free! I wore my mum's.

FiveFarthings · 13/01/2020 16:11

Mine was a Suzanne Neville, cost £2,800 but the sample in the shop was my size so they did me a deal on that one and I got it for £2,000. That also included any alterations.

MymbleClement · 13/01/2020 16:15

£800 ish. It was made for me by a local dressmaker though from a vintage pattern I had fallen in love with so I consider it an absolute bargain.

Minxmumma · 13/01/2020 16:23

£50 on EBay, little tweak at home, job done

Mushypeasandchipstogo · 13/01/2020 17:04

£300 made by a dressmaker 22 years ago.

Mushypeasandchipstogo · 13/01/2020 17:07

Oops zombie but didn’t realise that some people pay over £1000 for their wedding dress!

sophiasnail · 13/01/2020 17:26

£90 and altered it myself.

Could have afforded one 100x more if I had wanted, but it seems like a waste of money to me, and I think I looked half decent in my 90 quid one. It was actually a bridesmaids dress, and cerise!

MsMellivora · 13/01/2020 18:24

20 years ago so please take that in to account.
Should have been £700 but I bought it in a sale for £150. It was a one off and the small boutique shop did the major alterations for free. The owner had designed and made it herself and was thrilled someone loved it so much. It needed taking up and taking in and I had the sleeves altered a little.

BaolFan · 13/01/2020 18:25

£200 in the Monsoon sale 15 years ago (or was it 14? I forget!)

Poetryinaction · 13/01/2020 18:39

£800

Notacluedoyou · 13/01/2020 18:53

£2k in 2007 😳 ridiculous but I bloody loved it and still do 🥰

Boshmama · 13/01/2020 18:58

About £3.5k 🙈

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2020 19:00

First dress over £1k 12yrs ago

Getting married In few months. Haven’t a dress yet. Can’t find anything I like that isn’t over a grand

And refuse to pay that now with a 3yr and ivf debts and extension loan

It’s insane to pay that for an item of clothing that you wear once !!!

Skyejuly · 13/01/2020 19:02

50quid on ASOS and I have worn it about 4 times since!

RhymingRabbit3 · 13/01/2020 19:03

Borrowed from a family member. Originally cost over £1200. I had quite a few alterations done and had it professionally cleaned, which cost around £300 in total.
It had a lot of beading which had to be taken off and then put back on for the alterations, which made it more expensive than it would have been.
