To suggest you all do not watch 'All round to Mrs Brown'

I have lost count of the number of times I have seen the trailer for this, with a pixillation to cover up a swear word.

Even if you excuse the unnecessary amount of foul language, this is at best an extension of a very bad 70s sitcom with a gay character added in. If this is all the BBC can put out on a Saturday evening they have lost the plot in a way.

The worst thing of all is that previous series have attracted a large viewing audience. Go down the pub, watch another channel, play a video game or do something else. Poor viewing figures will mean it will not get a second series and the sitcom may be cancelled.

Definitely not my cup of tea - but seeing an ad between 8 and 9 am this morning with a pixelated swear word really does grate a bit. Is there honestly not a 30 second section that is funny but does not have swearing in it?

Janey50 · 25/03/2017 13:50

Who are you? Mary Whitehouse?!

Jamhandprints · 25/03/2017 13:52

It is soooo rubbish, I totally agree OP. Me and OH love silly stuff but are totally baffled by this being so popular.

TapOut · 25/03/2017 13:53

I don't find Mrs Brown remotely funny. I've tried but it just seems so dated.

TimTamTerrier · 25/03/2017 13:54

Has anyone linked to Waterford Whispers yet?

AwaywiththePixies27 · 25/03/2017 13:54

I couldn't stand Mrs Brown when it first aired and would rather watch paint dry.

My DM and my late friend loved it, never missed a show and even went to see the live show together.
My late friend died af Christmas and it just so happened that an episode of Mrs Brown was on the same night she passed. I now watch it with a smile on my face.

If you don't want to watch it then don't, change the channel and watch something else. I'm sure BBCOne aren't going to be too upset of a few figures missing off a good couple of million.

daisychain01 · 25/03/2017 13:57

As dear old Mary Whitehouse died at the ripe old age of 91, and laughter being said to extend your lifespan, I expect she enjoyed a few sneaky Alan Partidge videos on the QT!

AwaywiththePixies27 · 25/03/2017 13:57

I don't find Mrs Brown remotely funny

I feel the same about Keith Lemon and Tracy Ullman, doesn't stop them from having a legion of fans who keep the viewing figures up too though.

Thattimeofyearagain · 25/03/2017 14:01

Well you can just fuck off then cant you op , who the hell are you to tell anyone what to watch?
I love Brendan, Mrs B and all the sweary words Grin

WellieWanger · 25/03/2017 14:01

But it's not even funny. I don't understand how grown adults can piss themselves at it. It's bloody awful. Not BBC worthy in my opinion. But then a lot of the nation choose to still watch.....not that that's saying much Brexit

WellieWanger · 25/03/2017 14:02

I don't give a shit about the swears however

WorraLiberty · 25/03/2017 14:05

I've always thought it weird that some people can't understand that some other people enjoy things that they don't.

It's such a basic, simple concept to me.

blueskyinmarch · 25/03/2017 14:08

I hate it but I wouldn't ask anyone who likes it not to watch it. My parents think it is hilarious. I will find something else to watch. Not like I haven't got about a million other channels to choose from.

neveradullmoment99 · 25/03/2017 14:08

Cant stand this programme. Its just NOT funny.

SunsetBeetch · 25/03/2017 14:10

Pretty sure there'll be just as much foul language and shocking content down the pub

memyselfandaye · 25/03/2017 14:16

Wellie You don't have to understand why people find it funny, they just do.

I don't understand people saying a tv show is awful/not funny/not clever if they have'nt watched a lot of it.

You've either seen one or two episodes and decided several series are all shite, or watched an awful lot of it even though it's not funny iyo. Neither of those two senarios make any sense.

witsender · 25/03/2017 14:20

I fucking hate Mrs Brown. I do not get it one little bit.

doublesnap · 25/03/2017 14:23

I can't stand the programme but if other people want to watch it then surely that it up to them? We don't need self appointed censors to tell other people what to watch, last time I looked the majority of adults were capable of this themselves.

sucue · 25/03/2017 14:24

DH actually, physically rolled on the floor laughing at Mrs Brown, I'm not keen, especially third time around.

We cope.

CaptainHammer · 25/03/2017 14:27

Yabu but I hate it too! The swearing doesn't bother me I just don't find it funny.

WorraLiberty · 25/03/2017 14:28

I wonder where the OP went?

Unless she's hiring her local pub and selling tickets for tonight? Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 25/03/2017 14:29

I don't mind swearing. But I dislike unfunny things like Mrs Brown and being told what to do

JaneJeffer · 25/03/2017 14:30

I can't understand how this programme is so popular Confused

TinfoilHattie · 25/03/2017 14:34

I won't be watching it because it's shite. Not because I object to the swearing.
