To suggest you all do not watch 'All round to Mrs Brown'

I have lost count of the number of times I have seen the trailer for this, with a pixillation to cover up a swear word.

Even if you excuse the unnecessary amount of foul language, this is at best an extension of a very bad 70s sitcom with a gay character added in. If this is all the BBC can put out on a Saturday evening they have lost the plot in a way.

The worst thing of all is that previous series have attracted a large viewing audience. Go down the pub, watch another channel, play a video game or do something else. Poor viewing figures will mean it will not get a second series and the sitcom may be cancelled.

I can't stand Mrs Brown, it's just not funny.
Your thread makes me want to watch it though, I hate being told what to do.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 25/03/2017 13:25

Oh it is absolute crap but entertaining crap. I put it in the silly bucket along with Father Ted, Still Game etc. Harmless fun.

NerrSnerr · 25/03/2017 13:26

It's not my cup of tea but I don't need randoms on the internet telling me what I can or can't watch. I'm of course utterly shocked that there's swearing on the telly though. I will put a warning out on FB...

jaketweeneyistooadvancedfor2 · 25/03/2017 13:26

I hate it, along with Citizen Khan - they just remind me of the fake sitcom in Extras...'you avin a laugh!!'
But that's why there are many other channels or the off button - it apparently has huge viewing figures so someone likes it.

paxillin · 25/03/2017 13:27

I don't watch it, but viewing figures suggest many people do. I'm afraid you are the one who should go to the pub or play a video game. I would watch it if they showed it in the pub of course.

surferjet · 25/03/2017 13:27

It is rubbish. but hilarious in parts.

Willow2017 · 25/03/2017 13:27

I am loving the irony of you telling everyone not to watch Mrs Browns Boys and metioning the bad language on a site which has brought swearing to a whole new level Grin

I cant get worked up about what other people watch though, doesnt affect me in the slightest, I dont watch loads of things that are hugely popular like the 'soaps' and I bet the people who do watch them dont give a jot.

Love Mrs Browns Boys and will be watching the new style show, so will the kids. You on the other hand can go down the pub if you wish, write to your MP about how 'bad' Saturday night tv is, join Mary Whitehouses fan club, or whatever but nobody is forcing you to watch it. Just dont try telling the rest of us what to watch!

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 25/03/2017 13:28

Can I watch shite AND go the pub mum?

Grin
Maudlinmaud · 25/03/2017 13:29

Op you are a slabber! Lets be clear I don't watch Mrs Brown but I wouldn't make it my business to tell others not to .

PortiaCastis · 25/03/2017 13:30

can I watch shite and go to the pub Mum

Grin Best post today

dwpanxt · 25/03/2017 13:30

Thats nice.

AYankinSpanx · 25/03/2017 13:31

It's literally one of the worse things I've ever had the misfortune to watch. Woeful and utterly unfunny to me.

Each to their own though. Plenty do like it.

I love it and wtf are you to tell us what to do, take your bloody crusade somewhere else.
People are intelligent enough to watch something else, there's enough to choose from.

AnnieAnoniMouse · 25/03/2017 13:34

Initially I thought maybe you worked for a rival channel. However, I'm now more convinced you work for the BBC, you're certainly increasing the viewer numbers.

Otherwise, why in gods name would you start a thread telling people what not to watch on their own telly? Too fucking weird.

troodiedoo · 25/03/2017 13:34

I can't stand it but I'll probably end up watching it as nothing else is on, despite all these channels and the apps I pay for.

Aoibhe · 25/03/2017 13:36

I can't stand it, and I'm Irish.

I've heard that B is obnoxious in real life.

WorraLiberty · 25/03/2017 13:37

I've just taken a pic of the OP down the pub Grin

EdmundCleverClogs · 25/03/2017 13:38

Actually I've had a good think about it. I'm going to give it a miss and take your suggestion of changing the channel or playing a video game. So tonight I'll be watching old episodes of Game of Thrones, followed by a few hours playing Grand Theft Auto. You can join me if you want, OP? Give you some distraction from not watching Mrs Brown Smile.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 25/03/2017 13:38

I don't care about the swearing, Mrs Brown is a load of shite and I'd rather spend the evening ripping out my own toenails than suffer that!

Alfieisnoisy · 25/03/2017 13:45

Bloody love Mrs Brown and Brendan O'Carroll is a lovely human being as well.

FairNotFair · 25/03/2017 13:45

Mrs Brown is bloody awful; couldn't give a shit about the language though.

January87 · 25/03/2017 13:46

Aoibhe, whoever you heard that from is so far off the mark there. Brendan O'Carroll and his family are salt of the earth types. Brendan gives thousands to the St. Vincent De Paul every year, he paid for the funeral of a Polish man found dead in Limerick. His son donated money to a little boy who needed cancer treatment in the US.

They're amazing people.

gillybeanz · 25/03/2017 13:46

What if we really don't like video games or going to the pub and think they're the work of the devil Grin?

You shouldn't be encouraging video games and alcohol consumption OP, shame on you, where are your morals?
