To suggest you all do not watch 'All round to Mrs Brown'

I have lost count of the number of times I have seen the trailer for this, with a pixillation to cover up a swear word.

Even if you excuse the unnecessary amount of foul language, this is at best an extension of a very bad 70s sitcom with a gay character added in. If this is all the BBC can put out on a Saturday evening they have lost the plot in a way.

The worst thing of all is that previous series have attracted a large viewing audience. Go down the pub, watch another channel, play a video game or do something else. Poor viewing figures will mean it will not get a second series and the sitcom may be cancelled.

'I don't think I could be close friends with anyone who likes it. It would indicate I had nothing whatsoever in common with them'

Dear God lighten up! I could understand if they were a member of the EDL, or perhaps enjoyed attending illegal dog fights, but something as harmless as enjoying a mainstream sitcom?

Maybe some of your friends and family have a secret Mrs Brown habit that they live in fear of your discovering.

EdmundCleverClogs · 26/03/2017 11:47

ForalltheSaints, the debate is merely an extension of your rude opening post. Do you care to recognise that you have no right to tell people what not to watch, even if the content itself divides people?

LagunaBubbles · 26/03/2017 11:48

Im no fan but at least I can recognise the concept....that people like different things.

blueskyinmarch · 26/03/2017 11:48

My best friends have massively different music/comedy/TV show tastes to me. I would hate to be friends with people who were identikit models of me. I like friends i can debate with and disagree with. It would be boring if we all agreed on everything.

Elendon · 26/03/2017 12:02

It's does somewhat skirt around the main issue in Ireland at the moment. Abortion rights for women.

Yes, it's drivel. I don't normally watch it. Can people please get off my case now?

It's sometimes funny when I do watch it with my mum. Is that so fecking offensive?

ImFuckingSpartacus · 26/03/2017 12:08

I don't know why people are getting so defensive just because others don't like it.

EdmundCleverClogs · 26/03/2017 12:18

People are getting defensive because the op is about how if one person doesn't like Mrs Brown, no one should watch it. Or decide it's shit without watching it. Or suggest anyone who does watch it isn't worth being friends with Hmm. I doubt anyone gives a shiny shit whether anyone else liked it, hates it, doesn't watch it. No one has a right to dictate what people watch, suggests they are 'thick as pig shit' for doing so, or post several times saying 'it's so shit, why are people replying with their view that it isn't? How dare people defend a show they like'.

ImFuckingSpartacus · 26/03/2017 12:18

But the OP is clearly a loon, so who cares about that?

WorraLiberty · 26/03/2017 12:45

I did not expect such a heated debate on this! I'll go back to playing Mornington Crescent!

Well I can't stand Mornington Crescent.

Therefore you and everyone else, should stop playing it immediately...

paxillin · 26/03/2017 12:53

I think you should all watch Dr Who because that's what I like. If you all stopped watching other crap they'd have to make more Dr Who and they'd show the old ones over and over, too.

PortiaCastis · 26/03/2017 12:55

Can't stand Dr Who I prefer Mrs Brown and if you don't like it I'm going to throw my toys outta my pram

paxillin · 26/03/2017 12:58

Well you're just wrong.

PortiaCastis · 26/03/2017 13:02

Waaahhh my toys are overboard
🐷🐰🐖😨👻👺

EdmundCleverClogs · 26/03/2017 13:04

paxillin, I think Doctor Who has been rubbish lately, and I'm one of the people who think that David Tennent should be the only doctor ever, even though that's not how the show works. Oh don't bother replying. I've given my opinion now, you don't get to defend your point. Plus I don't want to friends with you because you think different from me.

Nononononono33 · 26/03/2017 13:07

I'm not a huge fan of Mrs Brown but after reading this last night I put it on TV for a bit just because, you know, I could choose...

paxillin · 26/03/2017 13:09

I hate every new doctor up to episode 6 or so. From episode 8 each of them was the best and only real one ever. Trouble is, so many people watch Mornington Crescent or Mrs Brown. Think of all the perfectly good Dr Who money wasted.

MitzyLeFrouf · 26/03/2017 13:27

I think Doctor Who should be banned and all recordings of past series should be burnt in a ceremonial anti Whovian pyre.

And the BBC should channel all earmarked Whovian budgets towards making documentaries about honey badgers.

I'm not sure what Mornington Crescent is but I will decide its fate once I've done some light googling.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/03/2017 13:33

It was me who mentioned Father Ted. Obviously FT is much sharper and wittier. I meant I watch them for the same reason, when I need a bit of silliness.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/03/2017 13:34

A bit like why I'm on this thread Hmm

AmIthatbloodycold · 26/03/2017 16:09

I've just watched on iPlayer. I loved it

Willow2017 · 26/03/2017 17:31

Forall
You came on here telling people not to watch a ery popular show because You don't like it and wonder why we don't all bow down to your superiority and agree?

Ok.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/03/2017 18:42

In the words of the Cohen Bros
