AIBU to expect all the hair to be removed having a Hollywood bikini wax?

Had four of these waxes now and they always leave bits. Is it really possible to remove all the hair? Or is my waxing lady not very good? Or are my pubes super strength? Confused

but it shouldn't expected as "normal" and I don't think it helps us to keep on pretending that "everyone" does it.

Who said everyone does it? Why are you making things up?

steff13 · 13/03/2017 01:14

I don't think I pee on it when I pee.

kissingJustForPractice · 13/03/2017 01:15

And we definitely should not be letting men tell us to get rid of it. Would they really forego a shag for it? Let them, I say.

ZilphasHatpin · 13/03/2017 01:16

Maybe you don't. Maybe yours is retractable and moves out of the way. Wink

kissingJustForPractice · 13/03/2017 01:19

My wee definitely goes backwards and downward, so not on my pubes. Maybe you're doing it wrong?

ZilphasHatpin · 13/03/2017 01:23

Probably. I'm interpreting how I feel about my own vulva wrong apparently so I'm probably peeing wrong too.

catsarenice · 13/03/2017 01:25

How long do you leave it before waxing again? Full growth? Or does the wax pick it up with just a bit of growth? I used to have my legs waxed but always found I had a night out planned in between waxes and ended up shaving too

steff13 · 13/03/2017 02:16

It doesn't retract, but when I sit down on the toilet, everything sort of opens up and spreads apart. The pee goes straight down.

sonlypuppyfat · 13/03/2017 02:30

What an odd thing to do, who rips all their hair off to feel sexier. I never thought chicken skin was that attractive.

AutumnalLeaves38 · 13/03/2017 05:20

Re partners influencing pubic hair removal or lack of:

Am 100% of the opinion that it's up to every individual whatever the Hell they choose to do with their own pubic (or any other) hair.

However, I was very easily swayed in my late teens/ early 20s, entirely according to the preferences of early sexual partners. Less to do with my own aesthetic opinions, more their constant complaining about hair-caught-in-teeth or not looking like the women in porn mags...(though, tellingly, none of them groomed their own, so must've deluded themselves that women didn't mind dealing with the issue??).

It was a real eye opener dating the first guy (French. Perhaps relevant, culturally?) who very much encouraged full-on natural and untamed, if that was ok with me. According to him, the extra trapped pheromones were an incredible turn-on.

He was also the first man I met who angrily questioned the double standard between 'expectations' of female vs male grooming. Pretty unusual in my circle back in the early 90s (sadly).

JennaRainbow · 13/03/2017 07:31

Can I just ask do any of you waxers have vaguely bad stretch marks from kids etc where you wax? Visually the skin where it has stretched looks thin, would it damage it further/hurt more to have it waxed? I might be giving myself excuses as I'm not sure I can handle the pain!

If your bare skin looks like chicken skin I think you're the one with the issue.

I love how it feels to not have anything down there! In fact, it really bugs me if I don't have time to sort it out frequently enough. Sex is better too.

I have always been too much of a wuss to wax, but yes it does sound like you need to find someone else. I use veet as pp!

Pippa12 · 13/03/2017 08:09

I have stretch marks from two children. It doesnt hurt anymore over that area and my stomach doesn't look any worse for it so i wouldn't let it put you off if you fancied dabbling in the infection ridden, chicken skinned, pre pubescent girl side Grin

Purplebluebird · 13/03/2017 08:19

I can't afford it even if I was brave enough Blush but would definitely consider it for less poor times, after reading this thread! I have been getting rid of it since I started having sex pretty much (no pressure from first boyfriend, and I had never seen any porn either, just read about it and found I preferred it after trying).

ZilphasHatpin · 13/03/2017 08:53

And it is "pre-pubescent girl" look in that in nature, it's mainly pre-pubescent girls who are hairless down there.

Do you have hairless underarms? That's a pre/pubescent girl look. As is having legs, or hair, or eyes. In fact I have lots of things I had as a pre pubescent girl. Luckily for me the adult men seem to be able to tell me apart from the pre pubescent children. No idea how but they manage it.

Browtox · 13/03/2017 09:04

I've had all off. But h said he prefers a bit of hair

tinkerbellone · 13/03/2017 09:19

I like a full wax because it's cleaner. Like another poster said, no blood on hair during my period. No wee on hair when I go to the toilet. No pulling out hair when I wipe my bum.
I don't have a sexual partner so can't comment on sex but I do like it 'all off' - and I'm doing for myself.

I do take two paracetamol before hand though Shocki did nearly knee the beautician in the head this time it was so painful.

I love it when there are no 'spiders legs' poking out the sides of my knickers or swimming costume!

Always amazed people still have periods. Seems so archaic. Pill, coil!

That's not true op, it's actually more hygienic to leave it au natural! I still wax though cause I like to feel smooth like a dolphinGrin

Hmm why would people want to pump hormones into their bodies unnecessarily? Those things aren't without side effects.

deckoff you're not making a point. Loads of things about adult bodies are the same as when they were pre pubescent. We don't morph into an entirley unrecogniseable form.

Have you got a source?

CoraPirbright · 13/03/2017 09:45

Def change your waxer! I used to go to the same one for eyebrow threading and leg wax (my bikini line has been lasered so no need there yippee!!) and, whilst there is no one else I would trust my brows with, she always used to leave loads of stray hairs behind on my legs. Really irritating to have to set-to with the tweezers afterwards so I have changed to a different salon for wax.

Mari50 · 13/03/2017 09:46

I'm so low maintenance I feel like a cave woman. I have a marauding bush and periods. I also occasionally have a treasure trail and hairy nipples because I get so carried away with life and other stuff I forget to look regularly!
