So if everyone on here is pearl clutching about the poor children being forced to eat fish fingers, who the hell buys all the fish fingers that get sold every sodding week?

Oysterbabe · 12/03/2017 18:40

Where is this picture from?

I probably serve my 14 month old portions that are too big sometimes but she'll only eat the amount that she wants. A 11 month old won't eat anywhere near all of that.

ChippieBeanAndHorro · 12/03/2017 18:41

Probably the people that aren't pearl clutching? Wink

Soubriquet · 12/03/2017 18:41

Aren't they always

What I want to know is, where was the photo taken? Has someone gone round to their mate's house and taken a surreptitious photo of their child's lunch? Blush

angeldelightedme · 12/03/2017 18:51

what a dumb thread! we need context!

BillSykesDog · 12/03/2017 18:55

Birds Eye Fish fingers are 58% fish.

The other ingredients are spiced breadcrumbs, rapeseed oil, water, flour, potato starch and salt in that order. So it would struggle to be more than 30% flour. Definitely not 50% flour. That would be dough.

Nomorenails1 · 12/03/2017 18:56

Saw it on fb the person was also moaning few months back that they where Sending her son a nutritionist round cue all friends saying it was only baby weight

So this is a dinner picture from someone's FB? Confused

IvyLeagueUnderTheSea · 12/03/2017 19:01

A big lot of nothing to do with you then?

Trifleorbust · 12/03/2017 19:01

All the people panicking over a fish finger make me laugh.

IvyLeagueUnderTheSea · 12/03/2017 19:02

Well Triffle I assume you only fed your dc on organic quinoa until they were 12 and saw a chicken nugget at the party of a lower class child.

joannegrady90 · 12/03/2017 19:02

It's food. Some children are starving get over it .

Tinklebinkle · 12/03/2017 19:02

I fed my kids a rainbow of lovely healthy foods as babies, I felt very smug. Both kids now eat utter crap all the time. I've given up holds head in hands and weeps Kids eat what they want as soon as they learn to cook. infuriating. Wine Grin

halfofme · 12/03/2017 19:02

So it is a Facebook photo of your friends child's lunch? I hope she's not on Mumsnet. Is it just a random photo of his lunch or is she asking a question?

ChippieBeanAndHorro · 12/03/2017 19:03

All the people panicking over a fish finger make me laugh.

not just over a fish finger... There are fishfinger, something else fried/breaded and chips.

I mean... one item? Well, why not. But all 3? for an 11 month old? I personally honestly think it's awful.

IvyLeagueUnderTheSea · 12/03/2017 19:04

If she feeds her child fish fingers I imagine she is in the 'other place' Half

Leggit · 12/03/2017 19:07

You took this picture from a friend on fb Hmm

angeldelightedme · 12/03/2017 19:07

An 11 mo is only a baby? Do people really feed babies FF,chips and smiley faces? I would imagine there is load of salt in that meal

angeldelightedme · 12/03/2017 19:08

shouldn't have been a question mark!

ComputerUserNumptyTwit · 12/03/2017 19:08

Posting someone else's Facebook photo is a really shitty thing to do, especially when it relates to their child.

Catsize · 12/03/2017 19:10

This thread has at least inspired me to make my own fish fingers. Never thought of that. Supermarket own brand chunky fish fingers have lots more fish by the way. Off to google finger recipes...

haveacupoftea · 12/03/2017 19:12

Tinklebinkle, my friend when pregnant swore she would never feed any junk food and petit filous was the work of satan. Spent the first couple of years pureeing organic veg etc. and removing lumps because PFB didn't like them. Said child is now 6 and literally won't eat anything but cheese toasties and chips Confused
