To think this is a huge portion for an 11 month old I'm socked at it

To think this is huge
OP posts:
GrumpyOldBag · 12/03/2017 17:04

Never mind the size of it. It's a crap meal. 2 types of frozen processed potato product and only 1 vegetable? And that being frozen too...

Aderyn2016 · 12/03/2017 17:04

I clicked on this thread hoping it would be about a huge spot. Am disappointed now Grin

BillSykesDog · 12/03/2017 17:06

Then the 11 month won't eat it all. Problem solved.

Ilovewillow · 12/03/2017 17:07

My 8 yr wouldn't eat this much!

ChocChocPorridge · 12/03/2017 17:10

What? No Ketchup!

My 6 year old, on a hungry day, would eat 3/4 of that.

The youngest (3) 1/2 (the chips and one of the breaded products.. he's a nugget demon)

At 1, DS1 would have eaten about 2 chips and a couple of spoons of peas (fed to him.. he couldn't handle spoons with un-co-operative food). DS2 was much more into food, and half the chips and fish fingers would have gone down, with ketchup, and surprisingly little mess (he could quaff from a plastic wine glass at 8 months.. he was an eating genius. Pity that his tastes tend towards junk)

TinklyLittleLaugh · 12/03/2017 17:10

It's junk though. But babies are pretty self regulating with portion size. Mine would have played with those peas for a happy hour.

Soubriquet · 12/03/2017 17:11

Christ that's huge!

My Ds is 2 and he has 2 fish fingers with a handful of chips.

Dd who is nearly 4 would have 4 chicken nuggets with a handful of chips

Leggit · 12/03/2017 17:12

Context?

Birdsgottaf1y · 12/03/2017 17:12

My GD liked to feed some to whoever was looking after her, so she'd be given bigger portions.

Soubriquet · 12/03/2017 17:14

Who served that then?

Are you at a restaurant?

I wouldn't order food for my 11 month old in a restaurant in the first place. I sometimes still don't for the 2 year old

I just order a spare plate and he has a little bit of everything

GetOrfMyBin · 12/03/2017 17:15

The smiley face thing is a turkey burger. They're 'emoji burgers' or some such. I saw them when we were shopping a few weeks back and eldest DD wanted them Hmm

For an 11 month old that is a lot yes, though as others have said most of it may end up on the floor. What's the context?

JustSpeakSense · 12/03/2017 17:16

I thought you said '11 year old' and I thought It was a suitable size portion...Shock

GrumpyOldBag · 12/03/2017 17:16

OP are you coming back to the thread to tell us who/where thinks that's a good meal for a baby?

glitterglitters · 12/03/2017 17:17

It's a big portion definitely, but if they are full up want it they just won't eat it.

Chewbecca · 12/03/2017 17:18
  • Too big
  • weird with fish fingers + the other unidentified item
  • dump the unidentified item altogether and add a 2nd veg instead
  • 1 fish finger is enough
  • about 4 fat chips is enough
skerrywind · 12/03/2017 17:19

Shite food.

RhiWrites · 12/03/2017 17:20

So it's the portion for all children under the age of 7? But disingenuous to say it's for an 11month old.

No need to order food for a child that small, is ther. But it's probably a good portion for the children who would actually eat it.

paxillin · 12/03/2017 17:21

I would "help" by gobbling up all but 1/2 fishfinger, 3 chips and a spoonful of peas. It's the least you can do.

80sMum · 12/03/2017 17:22

That portion would be too large for me, so it's ridiculously massive for a baby!

Aeroflotgirl · 12/03/2017 17:31

Yes, my 5 year old would eat that. Most of it will end up on the floor.

RupertsMum2 · 12/03/2017 17:40

That's the portion size I would give my 10.5 year old but without the unidentifiable emoji burger and he would eat it all. I wouldn't give it to an 11 month old as I wouldn't consider it a suitable meal even as a one off.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 12/03/2017 17:43

Well I could probably eat it and then be full but I think a child might struggle !

Looks like kind of thing I'd feed myself when I'm having a depressive episode and can't cope with cooking proper food.

Gileswithachainsaw · 12/03/2017 17:44

Yes that is huge.

Wouldn't give all that to a child under 5 tbh

It's a good example of a very shitty quality junk filled kids meal though.

Fine once in a while but fir an 11 month old I'd just share my meal .

Crumbs1 · 12/03/2017 17:48

Looks like a children's meal at a motorway services in the 1980s. Why would you feed your child that ghastly stuff?

IvyLeagueUnderTheSea · 12/03/2017 17:53

Where is it?
Who cooked it?
Who's 11 month old?

The answer is very different if this is what you regularly feed your child, what your childfree friend has provided for a child, what a restaurant has provided for a child
