To think this is a huge portion for an 11 month old I'm socked at it

To think this is huge

Are fish fingers that bad?? There's worse things you could feed your child? Don't see the problem with oven chips, peas and fish fingers as long as they don't eat it every day.

Sparklingbrook · 12/03/2017 19:37

Is it a Turkey emoji? I think I saw some of those in the shops (Bernard Matthews maybe).

GrumpyOldBag · 12/03/2017 19:37

In moderation it is fine

Do you think the rest of the time the child is getting stuff like quinoa, lentils, kale and avocado?

That's Ok then!

GrumpyOldBag · 12/03/2017 19:38

We are regular fish finger eaters in our house by the way - but always accompanied by loads of fresh veg.

WaitrosePigeon · 12/03/2017 19:40

I love fish fingers. My kids have a 'bad mother dinner' once a week usually.

Too much for an 11 month old though. My 7 year old would just about eat that.

Sparklingbrook · 12/03/2017 19:41

You can't beat a fish finger sandwich on white.

HeeHighls · 12/03/2017 19:42

Just tread what you don't want into the carpet like all day eateries now.
Makes it out of bounds to us decent diners.

ComputerUserNumptyTwit · 12/03/2017 19:42

Facebook have their own Ts&Cs Ivy which I can't be arsed to look through. I imagine op has broken at least one by copying and distributing the picture, although granted the "internet police" won't be on her case.

The fact that it's a shitty thing to do is enough for me.

IvyLeagueUnderTheSea · 12/03/2017 19:43

Do you think the rest of the time the child is getting stuff like quinoa, lentils, kale and avocado?

Before the thread was given context then it was possible that someone who normally fed their child naice organic stuff had been presented with this.

IvyLeagueUnderTheSea · 12/03/2017 19:44

Facebook regulations are not the regulations of the whole internet.

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 12/03/2017 19:48

Well one of my fave comfort meals is fish fingers, chips & spaghetti hoops Blush sorry not sorry
Most of it would end up on the floor & 11 month old woukd stop eating when they'd had enough so whilst there's a lot I wouldn't be concerned.

Catsize · 12/03/2017 19:48

Not sure why Facebook friend felt the need to post that picture either...

ComputerUserNumptyTwit · 12/03/2017 19:49

No, but pretty much every website and social media platform has its own Ts&Cs of use. Not that this is the issue here - the issue here is that op has decided to bitch about a real person's parenting using one of their photos as ammunition and inviting a whole posse to join in. It's nasty.

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 12/03/2017 19:53

Just read context, OP so glad you aren't my 'friend' Hmm

storynanny · 12/03/2017 19:56

It's much bigger than a key stage 1 school lunch.

MollyHuaCha · 12/03/2017 20:00

Regardless of portion size, it seems a shame to feed a baby such heavily processed food Sad

nogrip · 12/03/2017 20:06

stop fucking drip feeding OP

Gileswithachainsaw · 12/03/2017 20:09

Well that was a shitty thing to do

I assumed this was some shitty kids meal in a pub somewhere.

Not taken off a friends face book

Couldn't you have voiced your concern in a better way?

That's if you do actually give a shit rather than just wanting to humiliate her on aibu

lljkk · 12/03/2017 20:10

My 9yo wouldn't eat that much. Really delicate appetite!

ComputerUserNumptyTwit · 12/03/2017 20:11

She wouldn't have been able to harvest quite so many posts filled with outrage and sad faces had she been upfront though, nogrip. Wink

Trifleorbust · 12/03/2017 20:12

GrumpyOldBag:

It may come as a surprise that you can have a reasonably healthy diet with no quinoa. Hmm

pictish · 12/03/2017 20:12

What a superior load of old shite on this thread. Because of course, none of you have ever done a simple oven chips and fish fingers tea. Of course you haven't. Ha ha ha. Ridiculous!

Trifleorbust · 12/03/2017 20:14

ChippieBeanAndHorro:

I eat the occasional McDonalds. I eat the burger and the chips. I don't throw the burger away and substitute it for a salad. I just eat the salad for lunch. As long as this isn't every meal, it's not an issue.

EmeraldScorn · 12/03/2017 20:17

I'm sure the children in countries like Sudan would be glad of any food item, regardless of its "fish content", whether it was
"heavily processed" or even if it was "ghastly".... Some people don't live in the real world, be glad your kids have food!

ChippieBeanAndHorro · 12/03/2017 20:19

trifle

Well, I personally think it's honestly quite awful.

We sometimes have homemade burgers.

And yes, I would definitely substitute the chips for a salad. Or just have an apple later or something...

However, as a one off for an older child? Maybe. Although, fishfingers, a fried burger patty and fries? That's a lot of fried things dven for an older child or an adult. Let alone a baby.

Fishfingers with baby rice and carrots? Why not. All 3 unhealthy things? nope.

I'd be so upset if somebody gave this to DD.
