To be insanely fucking angry at this reporting...

www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/truth-female-sex-offenders/

Articles about record number of female criminals, lead with a picture of a transwoman. Rises in reported 'female' crime...ignoring that figures will be screwed from this day on given MALE crimes are logged as by females. And so on.

I am actually fucking raging about this and cannot vent anywhere except here as I would be deleted.

Surely noone actually thinks this is right?!

I haven't argued that they are a man or a woman. I've said that their inclusion in statistics makes no difference to the fight of women. It doesn't endanger us nor our hard-won rights. 0

If Lisa ends up in a women's prison, as a multiple rapist, you argue they are not a threat to women. and that the inclusion of male to female sex offenders doesnt affect us?
No, I reject that.

Would you join in a thread telling an anorexic that they aren't fat or would you back off and hope they learn to live with their unique combination of mental and physical health.
I would refer them to a mental health professional. But I wouldn't be worries they would eat me.
Backing off is not a good strategy with rapists.

derxa · 08/03/2017 15:54

Bloody hell!

Beachcomber · 08/03/2017 16:08

YANBU

There would appear to be an undeniable link between transgenderism and sex offending. Because we keep reading about sex offenders and rapists who are transgender - seemingly disproportionately so.

Note I am not saying there is a link between transsexualism and sex offending nor gender dysphoria and sex offending.

The world needs to immediately stop pretending that anyone really believes that these male sex offenders are women and start seriously looking into levels of sex offending by men in womenface and figure out how to protect us from it. But to do that liberals need to stop regurgitating the mantra "transwomen are women" but then of course the whole house of cards will come tumbling down.

RakingUpBadMemories · 08/03/2017 16:08

I asked why you agreed that Lisa was a man (because you did agree that they were a man).

What reason did you have for agreeing that this was a man?

NotYoda · 08/03/2017 16:21

web

'Perhaps you're less intelligent than average and don't can't write PhD, MSc, MSc and BSc and RVO after your name"

That is unintentionally very very funny.

NotYoda · 08/03/2017 16:22

... writing 'very' twice was not a mistake

NotYoda · 08/03/2017 16:27

btw, I may be a bit of an ignoramus, but what does RVO stand for?

MiddleagedManic · 08/03/2017 16:37

Just out of interest, is the low number of violent crimes committed by women due to the centuries of stereotyping women as placid, passive types who don't speak up, aren't violent coupled with a society that actively teaches girls some of the ways of being diplomatic and how to deal with situations (rather than 'oh, that's just boys' when boys handle a situation violently when a toddler rather than explaining to them why it's not ok) - and yes, massive generalising in order to be concise - rather than a natural way for women to be? Is it the same in all societies, even where patriarchy not such a big part of things (is there a place?)? As girls and women grow up to feel/be more equal to men will we see an increase in violent crimes committed by women? And by women, I mean those who are born with female genitals and brought up as girls and women (with female body parts).

Yoda I don't think web is coming back, probably don't can't take the criticism

Diana

It's a shame, because my extensive research suggests two possibilities: either she's got a Retinal Vein occlusion, or used to work for the Queen

DianaMemorialJam · 08/03/2017 16:50

I think it's bullshit the queen one

I've also found Recycled Vegetable Oil...

DianaMemorialJam · 08/03/2017 16:52

Urban dictionary says 'Rippling Violent Orgasm'

ROFL at "Can't believe we both know Simon Cohen. Small world!"

You obviously don't "know" him that well because if you did you'd know that his studies, the studies on which he based his theories and his idiotic questionnaire are riddled with errors of partiality.

FlyingElbows · 08/03/2017 16:59

I found one about Retinal Vein somethingorother but nothing vaguely academicy or uber impressive and faint inducing like the rest of the list (dies laughing) which is why I asked. I'm disappointed. I may never know. It's like actual violence.

PoochSmooch · 08/03/2017 17:03

websocket " I feel like your reply should be written in a word processor with spell checking and a re-read. I hope that's okay. It's fairly sad but telling that you assume I'm a "he" "

Hey, you're the one arguing for feminine and masculine essences here - don't I get to play by spotting typically masculine posting styles? As you're referencing studies on brain sex differences, you'll be aware that one of the attributes typically tested is linguistic differences. If you are a woman, maybe you have male language skills in a woman's brain in a woman's body? In this day and age, who can tell, eh?

Thanks for the feedback. I think you should run your posts through a spell checker, print them off, roll them up, put them in a rocket and shoot them into outer space. Hope that's OK? Grin

Halo
Atenco · 08/03/2017 17:30

So WebSocket has a Phd and the author of the article is writing a Phd, anyone else feeling that Phds have just been drastically devaluated?

DrudgeJedd · 08/03/2017 17:37

I assumed the RVO was the Royal Victorian Order and that web was a Royal Privy Fluffer or some such Grin

DianaMemorialJam · 08/03/2017 17:39

Looks like anyone can get them these days Atenco. Handing them out like sweeties!

DianaMemorialJam · 08/03/2017 17:40

M0stlyBowlingHedgehog · 08/03/2017 17:41

RVO? Royal Victorian Order? Retinal Vein Occlusion? Return Value Optimisation? Rechtsverordnung?

I'm struggling here. But what would I know? I stopped at PhD (Cantab) and never got as far as RVO. So clearly I'm not properly educated.

hackmum · 08/03/2017 17:45

webSocket: "Would you join in a thread telling an anorexic that they aren't fat or would you back off and hope they learn to live with their unique combination of mental and physical health. If you think that standing around saying "a thin person is 27.426% more likely to commit crime" is the appropriate response then you fit in here."

Would I join a thread telling an anorexic they weren't fat? Probably not. I would, however, encourage them to seek help for their condition. I wouldn't tell them that a thin person is more likely to commit crime, for the simple reason that it isn't true. I'm not at all sure what point you're trying to make here.

"What makes you a woman? A vagina or a way of thinking?"

The former, of course. I find the idea that the sex you are is determined by the way you think just ludicrous. It doesn't match any dictionary definition or any scientific definition. How on earth would you even be able to identify a "way of thinking" as male or female? If I spend some of my time thinking about whether Wales are going to win the rugby this week, some of it worrying about what the hell Trump is up to in the White House and another bit of it thinking about what I'm going to cook for dinner, does that make me male or female in your book?

DianaMemorialJam · 08/03/2017 17:49

Female sex offenses are very much under reported. All sex offenses are under reported, but those against males more so and those against either males or females by females even more so. There are very few studies on the subject, the only ones I am aware of i found through links on making daughters safe again website and suggest female offenders make up more than the 2% reported. (Although still nowhere near the numbers of males by any stretch).

As someone abused by both females and males as a child I feel seriously fucking offended that the very real issue of female offenders that is mostly ignored publicly and professionally, has become even more invisible due to fucking up the stats with male perpetrators being included in female stats.
