Having witnessed and been subject to sexual assault in mixed areas of MH wards I think that classifying female only areas, in situations where one sex could use their physical characteristics to overpower another, as 'safe spaces' is actually very appropriate.

What I can't accept is the idea that a man who "feels" like a woman really is, in essence, a woman, any more than I can accept that an anorexic really is fat. Because being a woman is, in the end, a banal matter of biology. I don't "feel" like a woman because I don't know how that feels. I am a woman through the fact of my biology

Or you could buy Cordelia Fine's excellent "Delusions of Gender" which comprehensively reviews every major study that has been reported as apparent evidence for hardwired brains. She demolishes them with facts and honest to goodness science. As opposed to the #AlternativeScience we are offered by the occasional GF that pops up on threads like this one.

I honestly don't even care about the brain theory. Even if there were such a thing as a female brain in a male body, it cannot be measured. Are the males who identifies their penises into women's changing rooms and prisons asked to give proof for their female brain? Actual brain-scan proof, not just "I like pink" nonsense that even if brain theory were true, everyone could just fake.

If my consciousness were transferred into the body of a man tomorrow, I would for certain not do stupid shit like demanding to put my male body into women's changing rooms. Because I know what it is like to be a woman.

Any male who demands access to women's spaces has, by this very demand, proven that he doesn't have a female brain.

Would you join in a thread telling an anorexic that they aren't fat or would you back off and hope they learn to live with their unique combination of mental and physical health. I hope the authorities have the sense to place him in a male prison, not put a rapist in a female prison, though I doubt there's any sense left in our legal departments when it comes to these kind of issues.
