Woman threw water at me

I was cycling and came to some trafficlights. A woman was looking at her phone so I banged on her window and shouted get off your phone. She tried to throw water at me and drove off, would police be interested?

OP posts:

If I thought I was being carjacked I would throw the nearest thing to hand at them which may even be a bottle of water TBF never really got anything lying about in the car that would do.

But I do keep my doors locked through towns to keep the possibility down

RedBullBlood · 04/03/2017 22:57

Me. I drive a 12 year old beast of a 4 x 4 with a buggered analogue clock.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/03/2017 22:57

You were down right rude banging on her window. She was down right rude and daft throwing her water at you.
6 of one and half a dozen of the other
IMHO

Sweets101 · 04/03/2017 22:58

Sorry to break it to you user but I think that's been done

Bunnyfuller · 04/03/2017 22:58

Get off your bloody phones while in the car or buy a car with sodding hands free! My fave are mummies with kids who choose to decide which laws apply to them. I dislike those pesky murder laws, and quite honestly, some people deserve it...

So how far can we go on 'choose which laws to obey'?

Userone1 · 04/03/2017 23:00

If I was being car jacked, they would be welcome to the rusty piece of shit...rust probably caused by water squirting!

Userone1 · 04/03/2017 23:00

Sweets nooo, bubble burst!

Sweets101 · 04/03/2017 23:01

sparkling a) don't wind the bloody window down! and b) chuck the bottle!
But most importantly A.

cheeeeselover · 04/03/2017 23:01

Omg my sides hurt. I haven't laughed so hard in agesGrin

Bunnyfuller · 04/03/2017 23:02

You need to put the actual offence with the points to PROVE Man10

Emphasis on the prove.

Sparklingbrook · 04/03/2017 23:02

If they are carjacking they will possibly have your door open and be getting in after banging on the window.

Sweets101 · 04/03/2017 23:03

And what sort of ineffectual car jacker tries it from the passenger side anyway?

Sweets101 · 04/03/2017 23:04

So keep your window up and lock the door don't wind down the window and start chucking random non threatening shit at them

mortificado · 04/03/2017 23:04

Thank yourself lucky you weren't ran over by her. That's what I'd of done

Sweets101 · 04/03/2017 23:06

Thanks user it's on my Santa list. And it proves to my phone squirt is a word

threesocksmeghan · 04/03/2017 23:07

It's because of people like you, OP, that everyone hates cyclists Grin

Sparklingbrook · 04/03/2017 23:07

I don't know much about how carjacking works but people do get into cars at traffic lights, or open the door to steal your bag or whatever. It doesn't have to be the car they are after.

I think the main thing is that if some loon is banging on your window you wouldn't know for sure why that is straight away.

NameChangedddd · 04/03/2017 23:08

No and you deserved it for being obnoxious and commiting trespass to her property by banging on her car.

Who made you police of what people do at traffic lights?

It's a stupid STUPID thing to do to bang on a car window- for the same reason that people hooting at cyclists as a rebuke is a stuipd idea.

That kind of thing scares people and makes them jump. When people are scared and jump, they have a massive adrenalin surge and an uncontrollable flight or fight response. That means their actions are unpredictable and on a road that is very dangerous.

If you cycle regularly OP you will have been hooted at out of the blue and know what I mean, it can make cyclists vere off, wobble and nearly crash. That woman probably thought she was being attacked when she is in a vehicle and trapped in a traffic queue. People like that may act oddly.

You are an embarrassing idiot for acting like that on a road and you should be ashamed of yourself.

*I happen to take public safety seriously.

Water isn't really public safety.

Get. A. Grip.

Sweets101 · 04/03/2017 23:09

Sparkling tbf it's not a common crime in the UK, but if you are concerned best option is windows up and doors locked.

Sweets101 · 04/03/2017 23:09

Water isn't really public safety

😂

Userone1 · 04/03/2017 23:10

Sweet stop it, the word 'squirts' on its on is like 'moist' i don't blame your phone having none of it!

SoleBizzz · 04/03/2017 23:10

There was a car jacking about two miles from my house on Thursday at 2pm.

Can't say this wasn't deserved though.
