I'm fairly new to mn and totally love it! Wondering what have been the best threads ever so that I can look them up and possibly explode with joy! Grin

OP posts:

Usualmum Mexican house thief is in a thread about cheeky requests as far as I remember, its not a thread on its own, its definitely in classics though, I can't link it now but will later if nobody else does in the meantime

maggiecate · 01/03/2017 21:10

Stunt pineapple was funny (naice things that you keep on show for visitors), and the foster mum of the drug addicted baby is a wonderful tribute to an incredible woman. Mexican house thief - agog at that one. Tiny elderly Korean lady is a lovely relaxing read. Amazed that walnut whips isn't in classics yet. Penguin bollards - there should be a subsection for parking classics really.

GinAndTunic · 01/03/2017 21:11

Can someone please point me in the direction of the Mexican House Thief thread? I have done several searches but have turned up nothing.

Thank you!

NotYoda · 01/03/2017 21:12

I remember loads of these

I also loved the IPOAT threads.

I don't think you'd get away with that sort of silliness now

Moltenpink · 01/03/2017 21:14

I loved the "help me save my bolonaise" one where the OP, after taking multiple poster's advice, popped on to say it was now fizzy... Cracked me up

SoleBizzz · 01/03/2017 21:14

Plastic fanny in the shed and the Tony dolls. I had to get a new computer chair! Blush

badhotfanny · 01/03/2017 21:14

The only two that have made me laugh out loud are the funniest bits of childbirth, and the one where the mnetter can't link to the dress she wants people to look at. It's just so ridiculous.

PlumsGalore · 01/03/2017 21:16

I think the Mexican house their is contained in the "have you ever encountered anyone this cheeky" thread, but the thread is massive, well worth a read though, I have read it a few times, it's great. The house thief is just one of the cheeky bastards on there.

AIsForAndroid · 01/03/2017 21:16

Short but perfectly formed thread that a few others have mentioned... www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_advice_tips/752184-hauck-stroller-pound-25-Asda

This is one of my favourites. The op answers herself years later.

NotYoda · 01/03/2017 21:17

AlsForAndroid

Thank you. That has made me properly laugh

MagentaRocks · 01/03/2017 21:18

Great minds als

poorbuthappy · 01/03/2017 21:18

The best lost thread was Olympic horses.
I cried with laughter and it was left to die in chat.
Pls someone come validate me. Grin

ZogsAnon · 01/03/2017 21:19

Oh, the foster baby was truly epic. Was a blubbering wreck by the end (I think it spanned several different threads?)
Also love the brassed neck type threads.

MarciaBlaine · 01/03/2017 21:19

Hedgehog Cam had me creased up.

GinAndTunic · 01/03/2017 21:19

Thanks, Plums!

PerryCoxHair · 01/03/2017 21:20

Lemond1fficult · 01/03/2017 21:24

Not sure about the entire thread, but the original post on the Savaged Min-Min thread. I actually have it screen shotted so I can read it at my leisure.
It's just too perfect.

For me it has to be either the lemon drizzle cake one or the parking thread that started the whole penguin bollards thing. Actually I think penguin bollards is my all time favourite.

rollmeover · 01/03/2017 21:26

Yes, the fostered baby, showed the best of humanity and absolutely heart breaking. It's probably the thread I think of most.

The was once a thread, I don't think it's in Classics about "How do you stick it to the man" and one poster wrote about how she always drives over mini-roundabouts. I howled with laughter and now think I am joining a silent rebellion every time I now drive over a miniroundabout.

ninenicknames · 01/03/2017 21:30

Korean Lady

AdaColeman · 01/03/2017 21:30

Brian from Hull and his private massage service was funny as it unfolded, and stayed funny and more importantly, friendly, to the end.

A couple of years ago there was a thread on Christmas Eve about the random and mostly useless items a husband had bought when he should have been buying the Christmas dinner.

The OP was funny and witty and the thread was warm and friendly, MN at its best.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 01/03/2017 21:31

I followed the foster carer's thread because my own DD was born drug dependant and it made me realise how much her foster carer had gone though before handing her over to to be adopted by us. I was in bits when I read the update from her family.
