Dh wants to paint the front door. No problem, I've said he can do anything but white as it just looks common and tacky imo.

My front door used to be white upvc and I painted it charcoal grey to go with our new driveway, woodwork and gate - I instantly felt posher not having a white upvc door. Yay I'm not trailer trash anymore - thank the lord!!!

Oh dear frilly I will tell my mum that white front doors are the mark of being riffraff. I don't think it's something she's been accused of before.

I love my white uvpc trailer trash (how fucking offensive) door. it fulfils its obligation of keeping cold and rain out, was affordable so i didnt have to up the old credit card limit to Keep up with the Joneses like thd Try Hards and i can lock it to keep offensive people from polluting my nice Glade Plugin scented air with their distinct whiff of Desperation de Toilette.

In a few years time houses with a dark grey front door (along with dark grey window frames, bi folding doors etc) will be super common and dated. Particularly if it's teamed with cedarwood cladding.

It didn't take long for the thread to take a nasty turn. And in case some of you don't know, and as other posters have pointed out: "trailer trash" is very offensive.

I have recycling bins just outside my white UPVC door. Makes it easier to chuck the empty Buckie bottles into.

Haven't read all the thread but Prince Charles's house is a lovely soft coloured stone.

So if you have a house made of york or Edinburgh sandstone you can have a white front door. But not otherwise.
