Especially to the working mums with children under 10 or under 5.
Just interested to know what percentage are watching the children vs being holed up in their man-caves.

Still commuting back from London then he'll take over with 10 week old DD for a while, I'll cook and we will chat in the kitchen for a bit and listen to music or watch a film. Then he will look after the baby and do the night feed so I can sleep. I'm making him a bacon sarnie in the morning to say thanks. We take it in turns. Smile Have an epic weekend all!

Theweasleytwins · 17/02/2017 19:11

Cleaning the fucking car, should have been home an hour ago. Although he barely does anything with the DC when here and has t changed a nappy in over 8 months😑

ExPatchwork · 17/02/2017 19:11

Putting DD to bed. It's been quiet for a while though so I expect he's fallen asleep too!

QforCucumber · 17/02/2017 19:12

Dp is at the pub for his leaving drinks/colleague retiring. He finished early today, collected ds from mil. Fed/changed and put ds (11 months) down for nap, got himself ready, emptied dishwasher and put washing machine on. Then promptly left for the pub when i got in from work at 4pm.

He has gone back to work after coming home to give the kids dinner. We are both freelance, so while he cooked I was finishing up tasks from a conference call I had at lunch. He covered lunch too. He probably won't be back home until gone 10pm.

HelloFreedom · 17/02/2017 19:13

Commuting home. Won't be back for another 30-40 mins.

S'ok though. I quite like the alone time with the DCs.

Kevinbaconsrealwife · 17/02/2017 19:14

Making dinner as I've just got home from the hairdressers...have a good weekend peeps x

honeylulu · 17/02/2017 19:14

Mine is making macaroni cheese for our dinner while I watch Hey Duggee on catch up with our youngest.
His father died two days ago so I've offered to handle everything around the house if her doesn't feel up to it but he insists he wants to carry on as usual. :(

Having a meal with a friend

JayzuzMaryJoseph · 17/02/2017 19:15

Nahhhh. Not here.

Its half term. I work term time only, DH self emptied but pretty much full time, so have had DCs all week and been doing all manner of constructive half term shote with them.

Tonight I am MN-ing and watching telly and drinking pinot noir while DH makes dinner. Kids are on consoles. I shall not be doing bedtime Grin.

JayzuzMaryJoseph · 17/02/2017 19:15

*self employed Grin

What an odd question at 5.45pm on a day when anyone with a regular Mon-Fri job will be at/have been working.

Why an odd question? Not everyone has a regular mon-fri job. No one is obliged to answer.
I'm a SAHM and DH commutes into London a few days a week (2.5 hours each way) and works from home the rest of the week. He was actually in London today but home for 5.30pm after interviewing people solidly from 8 until 3. Shock horror, people have different working patterns to you.

Picklesandpies · 17/02/2017 19:20

Drying both dds' hair after bathing them. He is a great husband. I'm shattered after crazy busy week and he was away for three days but he has come back and got stuck in with family life. I love him!

CarTrack · 17/02/2017 19:20

He was putting new lights up while waiting for the lasagna that he made to finish cooking. DC 2 and 4 were watching and dancing around his feet, I was watching tv.

He's gone out now and I did bedtime.

He never does the 'man cave' thing. Works long hours and always likes to spend time with the DC when he's home and they're up.

RightOnTheEdge · 17/02/2017 19:25

Came home from work had a shower and went straight out drinking.

passmethewineplease · 17/02/2017 19:26

Cooking us something for tea...he is the slowest cook!

QforCucumber · 17/02/2017 19:27

What an odd question at 5.45pm on a day when anyone with a regular Mon-Fri job will be at/have been working.

Not really, short commutes and 8-5 days mean we are both home before 5:30 every day.

Salumeria · 17/02/2017 19:28

When I got home, DH was in the middle of cooking the kids tea and supervising homework.
He is now listening to music and doing the washing up, while drinking beer.

TheTAW · 17/02/2017 19:29

He's at the hospital by the side of his DD who is seriously ill. Been there since Monday.

weeblueberry · 17/02/2017 19:30

He picked me up gin after work, put all the fresh bedding on the kids beds, did bathtime while I said hi to the new neighbours, shoved his dinner in the oven, did the older child's bedtime while I did the baby and I'm now heading out for dinner so he's here with them.

paxillin · 17/02/2017 19:30

He's cooking dinner. Kids are doing god knows what upstairs. I'm dicking around on the internet same as you.
