Especially to the working mums with children under 10 or under 5.
Just interested to know what percentage are watching the children vs being holed up in their man-caves.

OP posts:

He is at the other end of the sofa playing games on his phone. DD is snuggled in between us watching Charlie and the chocolate factory.

We had chippy tea as we are all worn out having just got back from holiday abroad.

MewlingQuim · 17/02/2017 18:38

WTF when did MN start doing automatic links Angry

Somehowsomewhere · 17/02/2017 18:38

To be fair, he's not doing all the work. I'm responsible for dinner.

I've just phoned for an Indian takeaway Grin

daffodil10 · 17/02/2017 18:40

He's in the shower as we are going out. I've just got in from work, unpacked the shopping, put a load of washing on, lit the fire, fed kids and dog. I might get 20 mins to get dressed and make up

Julju · 17/02/2017 18:41

On a long walk to a pub for his leaving do. Not his typical Friday. Usually feeling finishes at lunchtime and is straight home to do something with me and DS or take DS out so I can have some down time.

He works FT and I'm s SAHM

NennyNooNoo · 17/02/2017 18:43

On the way to the airport to catch a transcontinental flight (work, not holiday). I am at home looking after the kids and pets. I'm not a working mother though.

Pleasestoplickingthetv · 17/02/2017 18:46

He's just finished eating the dinner I cooked for us both and whilst I tidy up the kitchen, he has taken the baby up for a bath. I will then feed and settle DS2 whilst he lays and talks about the day in bed with DS1 before he goes to sleep.

Funnyface1 · 17/02/2017 18:46

He's come home from work, took our child and baby to the supermarket while I went to the doctor's, changed a pooey nappy and is now starting dinner for us. Having written that out I'd love to say I just realised how amazing he is but I already knew. I won the lottery when it comes to my marriage.

Washing up.Feeding the hound.Keepung an eye on apple pie baking.

Purplepixiedust · 17/02/2017 18:49

Mine is chilling/dozing on the sofa in the lounge with the dog whilst listening to the News Quiz on Radio 4. DS 10 has lined up the dining chairs and made a bed with blankets in the dining room. He is watching something on Netflix on the ipad. I am on the PC :) When he got in from work he walked the dogs and then mopped the floors downstairs (I had already swept, tidied and dusted).

MagdaS · 17/02/2017 18:56

Playing a piano duet with DS1 while chatting to DS2. He's been off with them all day, it's half term here. I am going out to my hobby in a minute and he'll do bath and bed. I did my stint at the beginning of the week.

Paddingtonthebear · 17/02/2017 18:56

He is home from work on the sofa and probably reading about football on Twitter. He's got dinner on the go and will be doing DD's bedtime shortly. I am on the sofa too and surfing Facebook/mumsnet/the news on my phone.

Justanothernameonthepage · 17/02/2017 18:58

We're pretty good at sharing equally. I do cook more (in return he does things I hate like ironing) but he does cook once a week minimum (so our son doesn't think it's weird for men to cook). We take it in turns to do bathtime while the other one does a post dinner tidy and whoever doesn't do bathtime, does bedtime story. He gets mancave time once DS is in bed but we do make couple time as well. Cleaning is pretty even too

thebakerwithboobs · 17/02/2017 18:59

No idea. He's in Afghan so as long as his activities involve him coming home in one piece I'm happy with that Smile

Brokenbiscuit · 17/02/2017 19:00

My DH is vegging on the sofa in front of the telly right nowGrin. However, he is about to start cooking shortly. DD isn't at home tonight, so it's just us.

I have some work to finish on the computer.

Groovee · 17/02/2017 19:01

Dh is sorting out the washed washing into piles

Grumpbum · 17/02/2017 19:02

I've just had a bath and am lying on the bed I have a cold and feel a bit poo, he's downstairs playing with the children and will shortly put them to bed like he does every night. I will shove some food in the oven and we will prob watch s film in a bit

VivDeering · 17/02/2017 19:02

I'm MNing wrapping up a bit of work and DP is getting tea on.

BarchesterFlowers · 17/02/2017 19:03

Working in the study opposite to the room I am in.

He has cleaned the kitchen after dinner and changed the sheets on the bed/washed the sheets that were on and put them in the drier and filled two massive baskets of logs in the last two hours though.

I work full time a few miles down the road, he works full time mostly at home. Most things are shared around here.

I am doing some paperwork, we will watch a film together/have a drink in an hour or so.

wrinkleseverywhere · 17/02/2017 19:03

What an odd question at 5.45pm on a day when anyone with a regular Mon-Fri job will be at/have been working.
DH was probably finishing off at work then before leaving just after 6pm with an hour commute ahead of him. Normally at that time, I would be stuck in traffic about a mile from home & worrying as to whether I'd get to the childminder by 6pm to collect the DC (7yo & 4yo).

augustbody · 17/02/2017 19:05

Right now he is daaaaaan the pub.

I really can't grumble though, he is a great husband and dad!

BoboChic · 17/02/2017 19:06

DP is on holiday ski-ing with DSS2 and DD. I am at home alone and have enjoyed quality time with my friends today :)

Foggymist · 17/02/2017 19:06

He's at work until 8pm, I'm finished work and ds is home from creche, I made dinner. When he gets home he'll wash dishes, get ds ready for bed. He made dinner last night and I did bedtime, we split pretty much everything (except he does bins and litter tray and I hoover!)

Licketysplits · 17/02/2017 19:07

Making my dinner!

molemonkey · 17/02/2017 19:09

My DH is painting the bathroom ceiling while me and youngest ds9 are on the sofa watching Trolls, he will no doubt join us when he's done.
