Especially to the working mums with children under 10 or under 5.
Just interested to know what percentage are watching the children vs being holed up in their man-caves.

We're ahead an hour. Putting dc to bed whilst i mumsnet on sofa. I will do the dishes in a minute

highclassmamma · 17/02/2017 18:22

In the Artic running get an ultra marathon. Staying at home with the children over half term is my preferred option..

Plunkette · 17/02/2017 18:25

Why so angry and aggressive Yellow?

The OP sounds to be having a difficult evening. I'm sure she wasn't setting out to make a political point or exclude anyone.

Her post wasn't particularly unreasonable.

Yours was though.

My OH was upstairs in said man-cave, while I was downstairs feeling like Brangelina after the split.
Kids fighting, running riot. TO his credit he did come down and get them to help lay the table for tea, and now all are fed.. (on the chocolate box muffins ) I popped in the oven earlier. So I managed to spoil their appetites, they barely touched their tea and now I will do the bath and bed routines.

My DP had 2 days off with his kids. I had the week off with mine. We went out all of us today. He's giving them dinner right now

Somehowsomewhere · 17/02/2017 18:27

Mine doesn't have a 'man cave'.
He's now bathing them while I MN with a glass of wine.

MothersRuinart · 17/02/2017 18:28

He's working and won't be back until after midnight. And then back to work again tomorrow morning. The joys of shift work.

N1ghtshade · 17/02/2017 18:28

And he did go to shops just after he got back from work. So I'll not complain.

Ah op ! Mine had a lie in as I was off work today and had a sofa afternoon when I went for a (restful) play date !

Kbear · 17/02/2017 18:29

it's not niche to have a husband now surely?

honestly mn cracks me up sometimes

N1ghtshade · 17/02/2017 18:29

the man cave is just his home-office, a tiny room with a desk taking up most of the space. mainly used for online gaming.

Haven't got one, I'm a whole all by myself Wink I'm sitting watching friends in my jammies infrony of the fire, fighting a bastard of a headache that won't fuck off.

Twopeapods · 17/02/2017 18:30

Loading the dishwasher after he also made dinner, while I'm sitting eating ice cream and have a cuppa Blush

maybeshesawomble · 17/02/2017 18:31

Exercising before cooking a curry. My turn to wrangle small children tonight.

Yellowbird54321 · 17/02/2017 18:31

Hm, I'll just get me coat Confused

Musicinthe00ssucks · 17/02/2017 18:31

Still at work. He commutes into London so usually home between 7-7.30

Joinourclub · 17/02/2017 18:31

Looking after number one child while I sit upstairs waiting for number two child to drop off. He will then bath number one while I cook dinner.

WhooooAmI24601 · 17/02/2017 18:32

Mine is napping on the sofa. MIL is here to babysit the DCs and we're off out for a gin evening in our local. He's exhausted, though, as he's done hideously long hours this week so probably needs his Nanna Nap before getting his G&T on.

PinPon · 17/02/2017 18:33

Reading with child while I faff on the computer...

Plunkette · 17/02/2017 18:33

Yellow you don't need to get your coat. Stay and join in.

Just take some calming breaths first. Maybe read some classics to cheer you up.

listsandbudgets · 17/02/2017 18:33

Standing up to go to shops to buy wine :)

MsJamieFraser · 17/02/2017 18:34
