So my LO is 4 this month. Party booked and invites all gone out. I've gotten several rsvps saying thanks for invite - - - would love to attend thank you. With the invited child and both parents names! Really?! Both parents? It's a children's party why on earth would both parents attend? It's limited spaces at the venue and I don't know what to do if it's full of mainly adults?

I just don't understand why you'd both want to go is it just me is this really odd? Surely a free Saturday afternoon to sleep / work / watch tv that's not CBeebies is welcome?

It's 15 kids 28 adults right now. Grandparents also invited.

We've been to a party today and after reading this thread I did a quick count:

7 children

12 adults (no grandparents)

The room where the first part of the party took place was quite small but no one seemed to mind.

We had a party today 11 kids, 3 siblings pay to play 4 adults. Clearly around here no one treats a 6 year olds party as a social Grin

Thankfully some parents are coming as one parent with two children as they're taking someone else's.

Yes I find it odd to use children's party's as social events or family time. I don't try to micro manage my child's friendships and try to leave her to play and she's nearly 4 and has been done to be left from 2!

And no I'm not stressed about this party and I'm sure this party won't lead to anyone's divorce or any other ridiculous ideas coming from a sad bitter person who can't keep away.

I am always amazed how a fairly innocent thread can lead to such insulting and spiteful comments. Is it that hard to comprehend that other people have different views and opinion, and to accept the difference before insulting them? Some people on here clearly need a life, and they are obviously not the ones you think.
