MN clique

I'm a regular poster, and have name changed for this.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be a clique here? Some people's posts always get answered and they seem like a happy friendly little group. If you're 'new' or haven't posted that much, you pretty much get ignored.

I enjoy reading the posts, and I enjoy posting, but this 'exclusivity' is really getting to me. This is supposed to be a place people can come with their problems/jokes etc, and to feel like some people are 'left out' kinda defeats the object IMHO.

OP posts:

I have had a handful of nasty PMs. I just posted them on the thread.

NotYoda · 05/02/2017 15:31

Yes. I have watched too much Big Bang Theory

I have just looked up Pandora's box and I don't think the Evils of The World is quite what the OP is worried about unleashing.

JustAnotherSilentOldNumber · 05/02/2017 15:31

shrodingers worms can be treated by a tiny tablet from the chemist.

MiddleClassProblem · 05/02/2017 15:31

There probs my are people that follows others to be mean too but that's just a form of trolling and that's their own sad little problem.

In general there are always a few that post in favour for the other side of the argument no matter what it is or at least can be sympathetic towards it.

Although sometimes you see the op has clearly make changes to post in favour of their argument and it's clear as day it's them. Again just leave them to it. If someone can't see past their own view point to that extent then nothing can change their minds.

NotYoda · 05/02/2017 15:31

I have not looked up Pandora's box. I have looked up "Pandora's Box"

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 05/02/2017 15:32

You seem to have stopped checking in with the thread OP...

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 05/02/2017 15:32

I've had pervy PM's!

DioneTheDiabolist · 05/02/2017 15:32

Cute kittens grow into actual cats IRL. I love seeing kittens on the web or TV, but there's an actual cat living in my house. Sometimes she's weird, more times she's a dick, most times she's asleep.

I prefer cute kittens (in or outside a can) on a screen.

Littleballerina · 05/02/2017 15:32

No cliques anymore. There used to be but it wasn't a bad thing. It was the equivalent of walking into a pub and seeing your friends. You have things in common, you know a bit of the back drop to stories etc.
Quite impossible now with such large numbers and so many 'user123456789' names.

MiddleClassProblem · 05/02/2017 15:33

JustAnotherSilentOldNumber 😂

Sparklingbrook · 05/02/2017 15:33

A pervy PM Dame? Shock I had a PM from a tv company but I can't remember what about now.

Littleballerina · 05/02/2017 15:33

Balls, we moved on to worms and kittens while I was replying.

SoupDragon · 05/02/2017 15:35

I had no idea it was MN Whinge About a Clique day! I can't believe I nearly missed it for this week month year

OCSockOrphanage · 05/02/2017 15:35

I recognise regular posters on topics that I look at out of interest. Some are here. Often they post well considered thoughts on subjects that are too controversial (or too trivial) for real life. I use MN as an alternative to living in a city with a social whirl don't get out enough.

Yep- some weirdo wanting to buy my old Birkenstocks and also I won't go I to detail but there's a very good reason I don't post on 'How so you wear your pubic hair?' threads anymore!!Shock

NotYoda · 05/02/2017 15:37

SoupDragon

Grin

Everyone

You realise that this little silly conversation to amuse ourselves whilst we wait for the OP will now mean we've been identified as a clique/bunch of dicks?

Hoist by our own petard!

ClashCityRocker · 05/02/2017 15:37

Oh I've never had Pervy pms. I feel left out now.

I think you need to consider what it is you want out of posting. If it's advice I think AIBU is best avoided and finding the closest matching board will mean fewer but more helpful replies.

If you want acknowledgement when you contribute to a thread I'd say you need to readjust your expectations. I quite often do long-winded replies but its my own time I'm wasting and nobody owe me anything. If you want to make online general friends MN may not be the best place. There is mn local but I've never posted on that so no idea how it works.

My first post on MN was 2008 but I've never been that prolific a poster though I was more regular than not on one board. Around that time an off-site support group was set up (quite openly not Moldies!) that I didn’t meet the criteria for and it did smart! But I'm glad I said nothing and now years down the line is see why it was and laugh at myself feeling rejected at the time.

DioneTheDiabolist · 05/02/2017 15:38

Dame!Shock

PinkBuffalo · 05/02/2017 15:38

Oh Tick I'm afraid I have to disagree in the nicest way. I don't often post, and have only ever started one thread in a less used subject. I still had a couple of responses. Other times, no responses to a post at all. It's just the way it goes.
I have never had a pm, but quite glad about that if Dame got a pervy one!

Sparklingbrook · 05/02/2017 15:38

Oh no Yoda we are having way too much fun on this thread and seem to have established a 'Worm Clique' Shock

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 05/02/2017 15:38

Some threads just don't get replies. I've had a couple of really long ones but started one the other week and didn't get one reply

Sparklingbrook · 05/02/2017 15:39

How much were they offering you Dame?
