Bad hairdo

I decided to go a bit mad and try to get a fashionable hairdo.

I went from long, brown and curly to bleached and grey. It all went horribly wrong and my lovely curls were fried. I then decided to go even more mad and had the right side and back of my hair shaved so I have an undercut. The remaining left side is cut so that it is level with my ear. A very dramatic difference.

I really hate it, I'm freezing cold and feel stupid. I have been wearing a big slouchy hat a lot (I do wear this hat a lot anyway because I'm outdoors almost constantly). But, one day last week, it was a bit warmer and I decided to take the plunge and go to pick up DS from his primary school (he's only being going there since October) without the hat. There was one other lady who I have spoken to in the past and she looked at me wide eyed. I kind of did a rueful grin (like WTF was I thinking?!). Thought no more of it.

Now though, every time I see this lady, she looks embarrassed, looks away as quick as possible and won't smile! I'm pretty gobsmacked. Why would she act this way - it's only a bloody haircut?! Surely if it's that bad she should feel sorry for me, not blank me?

Oh rats. I was worried they wouldn't, they only usually take on the lightest of blondes :(

Fear not, I think a pixie cut is a good idea.

If you still want to try a colour you could also try La Riche Colour Directions pots - they are semi permanent, no bleach or ammonia and they actually improve condition.

Some of the bolder colours I think might take on your hair but bear in mind a) they could be patchy because of the condition and b) keep them off the undercut as that'll look weird.

Good luck!
