To be told if a boy is sleeping with the girls at girl guides camp

The guides have changed their guidance on boys attending meeting, trips and over night stays.

Previously the rule was no boys allowed.

Now all boys allowed but don't tell the girls or parents, unless the boy and his parents give permission !

There are already a massive amount of forms for attending rainbows, brownies, guides or Senior section which need signing, from permissions for photos to health and safety for activities but if a boy want to watch my 10yo undress that is ok and no one will be asking permission from my daughter or us !

How can this be legal ? Do girls have no rights in the UK in 2017 ?

Lovely boys, by definition, don't try to force their way into female spaces.

As for accusations of transphobia, ignoring the rights and safety of girls and women is misogyny, pure and simple. Boiled has failed to come up with a link to support her accusations and Babycham appears to have vanished, having failed to answer our questions.

I think Beachcomber makes a very strong point about the difficulties faced by children accepted totally as the opposite sex when, as is far more likely than not, they come to terms with their body and want to abandon their trans identity. It's going to be very, very hard for a transgirl to "come out" as a boy (or vice versa), possibly involving a change of schools, even a house move depending on how the child and their peers react.

But if the TRAs get their way very few gender dysphoric children will get the chance to desist until, like Lou in the BBC documentary, they have already gone through permanent medical and surgical treatment. It's going to be a hell of a scandal when it all comes on top.

Oooh that looks good jiggly

prawn

I think boiled and baby may be ploppers

venusinscorpio · 14/01/2017 21:56

I think you're right Rufus.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 14/01/2017 22:15

I do wish my family would eat interesting vegetables. Cooking is the only traditional wife work thing I'm any good at, or even tolerate. I do most of the cooking for the 3 young adults who live with me because I like doing it. But they're so conservative. The idea of anything but plain sprouts or broccoli is anathema. Cauliflower is a non starter. I can only look on at exciting recipes. Sad

Loopsdefruits · 14/01/2017 22:23

Ok, so, my mum does this amazing cauliflower side where she par-boils the cauliflower, then fries in a pan with breadcrumbs and crushed garlic. It's like garlic bread, but healthy :D

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 14/01/2017 22:27

Ooh that sounds good as well loops

prawn

Just managed to get my teenagers to eat a sausage roll yesterday Sad

I figure another few years for fancy veg...if ever

ArcheryAnnie · 14/01/2017 22:39

Datun - likewise! I'd have gone mad without MN on this.

I am rather enjoying the cauli derailing. I have tried the cauli "couscous" and it's disgusting, but I love cauli in a curry, or in pakora.

Front page of The Star tomorrow 'Evil Killer Huntley: I want to be a woman'

I shit you not

venusinscorpio · 14/01/2017 22:43

That sounds lovely loops. Lisa Faulkner does a nice recipe on the food channel where she grills a cauliflower steak with a sage and onion stuffing crust.

venusinscorpio · 14/01/2017 22:44

You're kidding! Fuck me, no.

ZackyVengeance · 14/01/2017 22:46

i bet you folks like bloody parsnips.....evil they are...they hide on your plate pretending to be roast spuds, why??

venusinscorpio · 14/01/2017 22:47

Seriously midcentury?

midcenturymodern · 14/01/2017 22:49

I have a pic but no link Hmm maybe it's bollocks.

ExitPursuedBySpartacus · 14/01/2017 22:51

I hate parsnips. With a passion.

venusinscorpio · 14/01/2017 22:52

Fucking hell.

midcenturymodern · 14/01/2017 22:58

I know! Parsnips are amazing.

It was tweeted by Neil Henderson (@hendopolis) who say he is BBC Newsdesk and Planning Editor. He has £51K followers and a blue tick and his other front page tweets are about Brexit and Theresa May being crap at her job and normal stuff like that.

venusinscorpio · 14/01/2017 22:59

Have googled with a variety of different search terms, can't find anything so guess we'll have to wait and see.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 14/01/2017 23:00

Oh, if you hate parsnips please put them on my plate. Would rather have a parsnip than a potato any day!

Glad it's not just me, Rufus. Though mine will eat curried veg, including parsnips.

Dear God. If that is true (and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest), then surely most people would see it for the blatant attempt to access a female prison that it is.

And, of course, if he says he's a woman, then under the law, he is. The authorities will have no option other than to take it seriously. I'd like to see the TRAs justify this one.

venusinscorpio · 14/01/2017 23:10

I don't think it will do their cause any good. But yes, they'll have to take him seriously, both the authorities and the transactivists. And if they do I think a lot of people will be hitting peak trans.

Datun · 14/01/2017 23:36

I honestly find it breathtaking that Maria Miller, etc didn't see any of this coming. If transwomen ARE women and if the only remaining criteria is to say it out loud, what on earth did they think would happen!!??

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 14/01/2017 23:40

Oh, I do hope it's true about Huntley. Cats in pigeons all over!

M0stlyHet · 14/01/2017 23:43

Maria Miller had this drawn to her attention and chose to ignore it, Datun. One of the submissions to the select committee which she chaired was a lengthy, well-argued, well-researched and thoughtful piece by the professional body for criminal psychologists working within the prison sector. They pointed out that there was a serious risk of men pretending to want to transition either because they fancied what they perceived as an easier ride in women's prisons, or because they were sex offenders who could see that it would gain them access to a large, literally captive population of highly vulnerable women.

I repeat - Miller chose to ignore this. There was no "didn't see it coming" about it. She was told it was coming. That is a matter of public record. She didn't give a shiny shit.

venusinscorpio · 14/01/2017 23:56

I don't think it breathtaking because I know the woman is a total idiot. Not just from this.

Bambambini · 15/01/2017 00:03

If true, a petition should be started supporting Huntley (and Davinia Ayerton) as a woman who should have full access to female spaces - and made fully public.
