To severely dislike Robbie Williams?

GerardNoWay · 31/12/2016 23:44

OH has insisted on watching BBC in the run up to midnight.

I cannot stand Robbie Williams. I think he puts on a horrendously arrogant front, to the point of coming across as disingenuous. Deep down I think he's quite insecure.

There is just something about him that grates on me no end! I don't dislike his music, just find him irritating and fake.

He is an arse and always has been
He is like the Norman Wisdom of the pop world

ThePeoplesChamp · 01/01/2017 08:16

talentless, unfunny and has completely worn out the whole 'cheeky boy' image.

DameXanaduBramble · 01/01/2017 08:20

Norman Wisdom was not an arse.

Robbie, however, to me just looks like a failed working mens' club singer. Music for people who don't like music all that much.

sandgrown · 01/01/2017 08:27

Poor old Norman Wisdom!

MoonlightMedicine · 01/01/2017 08:33

Can't stand him or his 'music'

Wifflewaffles · 01/01/2017 08:38

I hope that the people anti bacced their hands after touching RW.

This.

Every time I see him I think he got really, really lucky.

can't bear to hear his music. another one who was enjoying the James Bond programme til DH turned over.

BreatheDeep · 01/01/2017 08:41

He'd love that comparison to Norman Wisdom. One of his heroes.
I used to be a fan up until the early 2000s. Not really sure why I went off him. But most of the reasons people are giving for disliking him are actually all acts he puts on to take the pics out of himself. And he freely admits he's not the best singer.
The tweeting/instagramming of his wife in labour was completely her idea and she wanted him to do it by the way. She has confirmed this multiple times. He's such a meanie for helping his wife distract herself from labour pains isn't he?

StorminaBcup · 01/01/2017 08:42

I've always thought he was a knob but when I saw the video of him being 'hilarious' while his wife was in labour I can't even watch or listen to him. Absolute monumental bellend.

insancerre · 01/01/2017 08:42

I've insulted poor Norman wisdom!
I didn't mean to, I just meant he's a bit of a bumbling idiot like a Norman wisdom character in one of his films

NormaSmuff · 01/01/2017 08:43

he looked like he had had Botox, or something.

RubyWinterstorm · 01/01/2017 08:46

I thought he was safely "past it" and relegated to the 90s

And now he's back? Hmm

So smug and I always feel embarassed for him now. He must have a really good manager!!!

Roussette · 01/01/2017 08:47

So glad I found this thread, thought I was the only one who felt like this.

Can't stand the posturing idiot. I'm sure he has insecurities, but it's got to the point now that I actually have to turn the telly off when he's on, I couldn't bear to watch last night. The pinnacle of awfulness was seeing him and his irritating wife in matching shirts on loose women and everyone fawning over him. It was honestly vomit inducing.

The labour vid... well... she would say that wouldn't she? She's hardly likely to say 'yes, robbie videod me when I was in labour and didn't want him to but I had no choice'. He's such a clown he probably just did it whether she liked it or not.

Oh well... his singing sent me to bed early last night... no bad thing.

Vapours · 01/01/2017 08:48

Insancerre, you can't get out of it now. You said it!. Grin

GerardNoWay · 01/01/2017 08:48

Not a meanie, I would just find it really annoying and frustrating. But each to their own. I think, from what I've heard, that he and his wife are pretty well suited. Well, you'd have to be to put up with him!

I thought his and Olly Murs' duet to 'I wanna be like you' from The Jungle Book was very cringeworthy. I think Olly Murs is a much better performer and a more likeable guy. But the two of them together, being 'lads' and acting up was Hmm.

insancerre I get the comparison with the lovely Norman Wisdom. If you see RW walking, it's just like NW. Sort of hard to explain and I'm sounding a bit bonkers now but they walk the same Grin

fruityb · 01/01/2017 08:54

He is just there to host the karaoke of his songs by the look of things!

QueenoftheAndals · 01/01/2017 08:54

There's something not quite right about him - he always looks a bit high or on edge. Has he had MH issues in the past? He's also obsessed with aliens apparently.

puttingthegenieback · 01/01/2017 08:57

no talent, no charisma, and looks like a male stripper gone to seed. can't stand him

BreatheDeep · 01/01/2017 08:59

he looked like he had had Botox, or something.

He has, unfortunately. He has stated so. Looks ridiculous.

Re his wife - if you've ever seen her interviewed or anything then you'd realise she really isn't the type to go along with what he says. The labour stuff was definitely her idea. She's quite irritating herself! They are definitely well matched.

I didn't watch the show last night BTW. He doesn't float my boat anymore. I'm another who really didn't like his part of the Progress Take That tour. Although I love that album and I did like him being a member again. Just hated his solo bit on the tour.

Vapours · 01/01/2017 09:02

Insancerre and Rousette. Grin Grin You've both started my new year off with a good laugh. Thanks.

insancerre · 01/01/2017 09:07

😄

insancerre · 01/01/2017 09:09

I also think Robbie Williams is the long forgotten love child of Norman Wisdom and Elton John
