To severely dislike Robbie Williams?

OH has insisted on watching BBC in the run up to midnight.

I cannot stand Robbie Williams. I think he puts on a horrendously arrogant front, to the point of coming across as disingenuous. Deep down I think he's quite insecure.

There is just something about him that grates on me no end! I don't dislike his music, just find him irritating and fake.

Apparently Mariah's nye performance was monumentally awful as well.
She's another one who believes her own hype.

bringbacksideburns · 01/01/2017 12:59

I wanted to see old style BBC footage not him singing with his dad!!

Owllady · 01/01/2017 13:06

He's not troubled, it's all a bloody act. He comes from a perfectly normal family!
He's as attention seeking and needy in real life.

Flingmoo · 01/01/2017 13:06

Argh, it was so cringey last night! There was no performance was there - he seemed like some middle aged bloke doing karaoke down the pub... And I couldn't quite figure out why he needed autocue for his own songs, especially the massive hits that he should surely know after performing them live for the last 2 decades?!

Owllady · 01/01/2017 13:14

You should have watched jools. It was far more representative of the Midlands :o

TinselTwins · 01/01/2017 13:19

What I really don't undersand is why fans swoon at pop stars like him who swing between having distain for their fans and equally demanding adoration from them?

Loving someone who sees you (as a whole fan base) like that is surely not healthy?

Chippednailvarnishing · 01/01/2017 13:26

Police are investigating after Robbie Williams got 2017 off to the worst possible start by murdering all of his own songs before dying on stage
Grin

I can't explain what it is, but he makes my skin crawl. I don't think I could actually let him touch me, I'd need more than anti bac to recover.

FuzzyCustard · 01/01/2017 14:22

He once did something very very kind, for a childrens' charity I worked for. And insisted it was done in complete secrecy. The children loved him, and he went right up in my estimation.

Blacksox · 01/01/2017 14:25

He is creepy and rubbish.

MrsPeelyWally · 01/01/2017 14:28

I love him and at 58 I still go to see him perform live.

I didn't see last nights show but there was a fab one on tv a few weeks ago when he won another BAFTA. Take That came on and seemed delighted to perform with him.

Amandahugandkisses · 01/01/2017 14:32

I think he has some really negative energy about him. Watching him makes my skin crawl.

Hedgehog80 · 01/01/2017 14:36

I have I say the antibac moment made me like him ! I can completely understand why he did it but maybe that's because we just had norovirus over Christmas so I'm currently germ phobic and do like a bit of antibacterial hand gel (they do one that kills viruses too....wonder which one he had)

AmberStClare · 01/01/2017 14:37

Going to buck the trend, have heard he is very professional to work with and pleasant.

In Scotland whre they did not show Robbie, some ghastly programme from Glasgow on live. Found even Jools a bit tired this year but loved Chaka Khan.

formerbabe · 01/01/2017 15:07

I really dislike his music. I find it terribly bland.

SunsetBeetch · 01/01/2017 15:21

YANBU. I've never liked the irritating, talentless, burning tosser. Rick DJ would make my top ten of the worst songs ever written too.

SunsetBeetch · 01/01/2017 15:26

*gurning Grin

DodoRevival · 01/01/2017 15:28

Why did the old style programme died off? The review of the year type - then big Ben dinging away - end of programme

Think Clive Anderson did one, but there was a decent selection despite there being just 4 channels for the majority of TV viewers.

mammmamia · 01/01/2017 15:51

So glad to find this thread I can't bear him, everything about him makes my skin crawl and I have to switch over if he's on.
I actually loved take that and have seen them live but without him! Love Gary Barlow.

twinklefoot · 01/01/2017 16:21

Funny I've always hated himnwhenbhe was loved by all. Feeling strangely protective of him now. He always looks pretty troubled and insecure. He does cones across really badly tho. Probably beause he lacks any genuine talent.

Nicesunrise · 01/01/2017 16:57

Feel a bit sorry for him Not a fan , but I think he is majorly insecure

mygorgeousmilo · 01/01/2017 17:00

I can't stand him, he seems to ooze out a variety of horrible character traits at every opportunity. His wife is bloody vacuous and awful too! YANBU

MrsPeelyWally · 01/01/2017 17:57

Im enjoying the show on catch up. We've just got to the part when his dad comes on but Id seen this before in Abu Dhabi.

His father was a pub singer at one stage, plus they were estranged for years and I think the song about him being a better man is relevent

Happybunny19 · 01/01/2017 18:48

YANBU - he's a talentless, arrogant, irritating twat of the highest order. No way I was watching his overly-smug, moronic face this New Year.

Chaka Khan was on Jools Holland though and effing supurb, unlike ABC that followed and just embarrassed themselves, oh dear.

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 01/01/2017 19:15

If you took away the lighting rig and the dancers (who sang his own songs better than him!)... You're left with a pretty poor pub singer.... The sort of act you'd watch one song and decide wetherspoons was a better option!

formerbabe · 01/01/2017 19:17

Im enjoying the show on catch up.

Ha ha...good one!!
