So many 'nethun' type posts on here just lately

I've seen so many posts recently with kisses on, not just after a post but after every sentence. I hate it.

Also words such as bubba and hubby have been creeping in.

Does it bother anyone else or aibu to want to punch my computer every time I see it?

Mumsnet is the place, where people who get banned from Netmums come onto.

How are they different, just curious? As havent used Netmums...

oldlaundbooth · 30/12/2016 01:22

The only thing that bothers me is user123456899 but we've gone through that already.

HerodZackHunt · 30/12/2016 01:28

YunoYurbubson.

Have to go now, live-in nanny just brought my cocoa. Watch those knuckles bibbity. Carry on getting your priorities right, huns. Hugs. xx

sobeyondthehills · 30/12/2016 02:26

NM's in more cuddly, for me same words more hugs, MN's is more straight talking and to be fair, more likely to call you out on bullshit.

Both have good and bad points, it just depends on what type of person you are and for me what advice I am after.

If you like a more delicate approach NM's a more straight forward approach MN's.

Also on MN's you are more likely to be told to LB than NM's who will go for councilling.

This is only my point of view though. Its been a while since I have been on both, and my taste in more MNs these days. I much prefer being told I am wrong in don't be so stupid way than a hug way

sobeyondthehills · 30/12/2016 02:27

Sorry forgot to put in who I was talking to

Maz2444466 · 30/12/2016 02:44

Thanks Sobeyondthehills, will check out netmums as well!

OP, I can't get over what 'nethun' means, if anything?

sansoucitherednosedcariboo · 30/12/2016 02:59

Legend has it that Netmums is warm & fuzzy.

sansoucitherednosedcariboo · 30/12/2016 03:01

Net = internet
Hun = honey

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 30/12/2016 03:09

bibbity you ok hun? xxx

Kill me now

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 30/12/2016 03:10

I have found my people. On this thread and on MN in general.

Maz2444466 · 30/12/2016 03:11

Ahhhh thank you!Google results were so far off. The first link was to an Italian website and there were a couple of Spanish links as well so I was so confused!

I can sleep easy now.

Gallavich · 30/12/2016 03:18

I really hate it when posters use kisses as punctuation x it's incredibly annoying x
It doesn't mean anything, it's just a weird reflex and makes me think they are either young or insecure x

Actually there is a whole world of etiquette with young people and online communication. Putting a full stop rather than a kiss at the end of a message is genuinely considered rude and a snub. This also seems to be adopted by some women who aren't young because they don't like seeming rude I think. Lots of the school run mums stick them all over messages which makes me feel I need to kiss them right back even though it goes against my instincts.

Vapours · 30/12/2016 08:51

MorningSmile Back to bitching about those other members of the human race, those who use different words. Let's see........ I know, let's continue to guess what clothes they wear and how they party/ celebrate. So far we've had adidas trackies, matching outfits and trainers, gazebo's and cheese parties, posh fake fires, etc? What else?

Vapours · 30/12/2016 08:55

When we had this type of bullying bitching at school, our mum's used to say it's because they're unhappy in their own lives and feel insecureHmm

RestlessTraveller · 30/12/2016 09:06

The level of snobbery on this thread is astonishing.

Isadora2007 · 30/12/2016 09:22

I want a cheese party!

What is a cheese party and do you need adidas clothing to have one?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 30/12/2016 09:23

I don't like kisses, Hun , bubba, hubby and there are other things that get on my tits.

I'm not going to bring it up on a thread because I'd look like a massive twat.

Never been on netmums myself, it's too bright but there's room for everyone surely.

Vapours · 30/12/2016 09:24

Unbelievable isn't it, Restless? It reminds me of the sci fi movies where the privileged/ elite look down on the rest of humanity. Oops, i've admitted I watch sci fi, does this make me an adidas-wearing hun?Smile

Far worse, IMHO, is that I have started speaking MN in RL. Referring to DHs, PiLs, using my voice not my keyboard. Someone hand me a grip, quick!

RandomDent · 30/12/2016 09:32

In the olden days Nethun bashing was a daily sport. But it was more about all the hugs and "your baby, your rules". And the lack of swears. I don't remember the slightly snobby portraits of what "they" wear and their decor. Of course it was all sepia then, I might have forgotten.

Vapours · 30/12/2016 09:33

Don't know, Isadora, cos we're just guessing. My mil had a cheese and wine party at her wedding in the 1950's, does that make her a hun? Smile
