I've seen so many posts recently with kisses on, not just after a post but after every sentence. I hate it.

Also words such as bubba and hubby have been creeping in.

Does it bother anyone else or aibu to want to punch my computer every time I see it?

OP posts:

OP, your life must be pretty boring, if this issue takes up so much of your headspace.

Also, you do realise no one is really kissing you, it's just a symbol, yeah?

Vapours · 30/12/2016 09:41

Agreed Navy, maybe some people could make a New Year resolution. In fact why don't we all resolve to get MN back on track for 2017.

coffeetasteslikeshit · 30/12/2016 09:42

Am I allowed to mention the apparent (to me at least) drop in reading comprehension level? I know this makes me sound like a snob, but I'm fed up of good threads being derailed by posters who are arguing about something that was never said in the first place.

JinnanTonik · 30/12/2016 09:44

It's all getting a bit too pink and fluffy for my liking, more cold showers and PT is needed!

NB The use of the idiom 'Bae' makes my spleen itch and I want to throat punch the poster!

......and breathe!

EastMidsMummy · 30/12/2016 09:46

OK, I finally get "nethun." NetHun or Net-Hun. Netmums + "You OK, Hun?"

Why the fuck anyone would write it like that I don't know. I read it as neth-un or even N.E.-thun (anything??).

pinkieandperkie · 30/12/2016 09:55

Op I think that if you are at the stage where you want to punch your computer maybe it's time for you to walk away. X

JinnanTonik · 30/12/2016 10:02

PS. OP YAsoNBU

NotDavidTennant · 30/12/2016 10:09

People don't seem to get humour on here anymore either. You can't post anything that's meant to be jokey now, as almost immediately someone will take your post completely seriously.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 30/12/2016 10:12

Actually it bothers me more when people suggest 'tinkly laugh' 'breezy' 'head tilt' and of course the MN off-used bag of wank that is 'did you mean to be so rude'

nethunsreject · 30/12/2016 10:14

I agree wholeheartedly with you, op. So many bloody!!!!!!!! all over the place too. That never happened in the olden days. So many over sensitive flowers too. And a real dumbing down. There's still many great posters but they are in the minority now. I guess the place is just so huge now.

nethunsreject · 30/12/2016 10:15

oh, and kisses all over the place too. Grr.

AyeAmarok · 30/12/2016 10:17

It bothers me too OP.

I dislike hun, Xxxxx, "mummy" names, bubz bubba, hubz, hubby, hubster, mumma, lol, LOL!, text abbreviations circa 1999 and anything vaguely "little prince/princess" related.

My issue, I know.

AyeAmarok · 30/12/2016 10:19

Oh yes, and exclamation marks. Hate those too, especially every other sentence or!!!!!

Lweji · 30/12/2016 10:22

The dramatics, the fury over nothing, the MIL bashing etc. You can't say what you really think anymore without someone kicking off almost immediately.

So, what changed? Wink

Lweji · 30/12/2016 10:23

I've only noticed a hun and bub post for ages. It was clearly a noob.

What threads are you on?

Cherryskypie · 30/12/2016 10:26

I'm with you. Also, OPs having to put 'light hearted' to avoid po-faced fuckers ruining the thread.

Lweji · 30/12/2016 10:28

I don't know.
I find those who don't understand sarcasm in any form somewhat amusing.

Cherryskypie · 30/12/2016 10:31

Did you see the thread about Santa Baby? Apparently the singer was confused about Santa and actually looking for a sugar daddy.

rainbowstardrops · 30/12/2016 10:43

Can't say it bothers me that much to be honest. I get far more pissed off about what's happening in RL.
Oh and I love an over-use of the exclamation mark!!!!!

Lweji · 30/12/2016 10:47

I found the santa baby thread.
What's wrong? The OP? Or some reactions to it?
Clearly the singer was talking about a sugar daddy.

Cherryskypie · 30/12/2016 10:49

The OP!

Soubriquet · 30/12/2016 10:57

It bothers me

I can just about get on board with them saying "Hun" "bubba" "bubs" "hubby" "mumma" if I have to. very reluctantly but i don't like the whole mentality now.

It's all about "mummas stick together" and "stop being so mean to the obvious unreasonable OP" or "it's just what 6 year olds do. They are kids ffs!"

BumWad · 30/12/2016 10:59

I couldn't care less hun

X

Vapours · 30/12/2016 11:08

Huns and Bubbas v the self-righteous, patronising, we are so cools Hmm
