I've seen so many posts recently with kisses on, not just after a post but after every sentence. I hate it.

Also words such as bubba and hubby have been creeping in.

Does it bother anyone else or aibu to want to punch my computer every time I see it?

OP posts:
Vapours · 30/12/2016 00:14

We're so much more adult over here.

DontTouchTheMoustache · 30/12/2016 00:14

Oh I've also been saying pupper sometimes....but again I think that might be ironic? I'm not sure

mummydawn07 · 30/12/2016 00:14

please excuse my typing errors there, a space between don't and mind somehow got missed out and though should be thought

user1481334936 · 30/12/2016 00:15

Reminds me of when one of my aunties will text me. I quite like it. Then again I like it when people call me sweetheart or darling irl lol.

Ps- how do I change my username, I type it in that box and nothing happens.

ThymeLord · 30/12/2016 00:18

Yeah I can't stick it either OP. The whole place has changed. Everyone has to agree now otherwise they're cyber bullies.

Vapours · 30/12/2016 00:19

Oh, it's soooo good to feel superior and take the piss. Just makes my day, reminds me of school playgroundsSmile Happy Days.

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 30/12/2016 00:22

We have this thread every few weeks. I don't like the cutesy but this is how things are. Another thread about it won't make a bloody difference.

mummydawn07 · 30/12/2016 00:22

user1481334936 I think you have to go to my mumsnet at the top of the page and select my account, and you can change your user name there

Tartyflette · 30/12/2016 00:23

Yeah, not keen either. But mainly because it was exactly the lack of all the kisses and cuteness so very unlike dear FB or Netmums that drew me here in the first place. That and all the swearing. Grin

ThymeLord · 30/12/2016 00:25

You get today off for swearing now. And called ladies and mummies a lot.

ThymeLord · 30/12/2016 00:25

*told

Vapours · 30/12/2016 00:33

Wouldn't even send my nanny out in an adidas tracky! Ooops, I've let slip we have a nanny. Soooo superior.

MysticTwat · 30/12/2016 00:34

The whole hun and x thing, I don't like. It so over familiar and insincere.

You're so right, Dralon. (isn't that an old cheap fabric, btw?) Never mind, I digress. Yy get rid of hubba's and bubba's!

Tartyflette · 30/12/2016 00:43

Really, ThymeLord ? Fucking hell.

GimmeeMoore · 30/12/2016 00:43

Vapours · 30/12/2016 00:45

So over familiar, so insincere. Give me compassionate mumsnet any day of the week!

ThymeLord · 30/12/2016 00:46

Usually in the same sentence...."what's the need for the bad language? Surly (sic) mummies should support each other"?

Vapours · 30/12/2016 00:47

Yy Thyme, how very sickening.

ThymeLord · 30/12/2016 00:50

Oh I'm so sure you're being sarcastic hun xx

MysticTwat · 30/12/2016 00:53

Yes insincere vapours something you just demonstrated well

Furthermore, they seem to have a lot of problems with SS over there. Now, we don't put up with that nonsense on here. We tell them straight, This. Does. Not. Happen. Even though time honoured MN Family Law barrister, Spero stated 14/12/16, 07:10 "We are now very firmly in the "child rescue narrative" and the focus is on removal rather than support". Stiff upper lip, This. Does. Not. Happen.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 30/12/2016 01:01

Yanbu op. Gets right on my tits too. People who put a kiss at the end of their posts just come across as daft to me. I also dislike many of the words increasingly used as shorthand on MN, including hubby and bubs etc, but what really gets me biting down hard on my knuckles is the totally unforgivable "picky tea" aaaarrrrgggg.

Vapours · 30/12/2016 01:08

Sorry, digressed yet again there. Yy, down with kisses, hugs, huns, bubba, etc, etc.
