Does anyone actually use body lotion?

I've got the usual Christmas smelly sets from in laws, grandparents and one from a friend. They're all lovely and I appreciate them as presents as I do use the contents....but never the body lotion.

This means I end up with drawers full of the things, because I have all good intentions of slathering myself with the stuff after every shower, but I can just never be bothered.

Am I the only one who wishes they'd just put two shower gels in there instead?

After every shower/bath.

Eliza22 · 25/12/2016 19:51

Every day.

ColdFeetAndHotCakes · 25/12/2016 19:51

Use lotion morning and night as I have eczema all over my chest, stomach and back. Christmas can be a pain though, I have to very explicitly ask people not to give me any body products because I have reactions to lots of things, increasingly to sensitive skin products I've been using for years. As an alternative one relative gets me Lush vouchers because I can test their stuff out in-store and find a couple of their products really helpful for managing my skin.

DramaAlpaca · 25/12/2016 19:52

I don't like the sticky feeling after applying it & fragranced products bring me out in a rash so I don't use it.

Chrissiecat · 25/12/2016 19:56

I don't use it, I never think of putting it on.

PinkLilac · 25/12/2016 19:57

I used to hate body lotion as a gift. As I get older, I use it more and more. My skin seems drier and body lotion keeps it feeling nice. You're just too young for it - yet!

specialsubject · 25/12/2016 19:57

Never , and skin is fine without it.

Give the stockpiles to charity.

abbsisspartacus · 25/12/2016 19:58

Yes but no one ever buys me any Sad

KittyandTeal · 25/12/2016 20:02

Pretty much every day.

I have an annoying combination of oily skin on my face but the skin on my body gets dry and itchy. I love good body lotion.

leaveittothediva · 25/12/2016 20:05

You lucky thing, I get fed up buying it, I use so much. I'd love to have drawers full.

OhStuffingBalls · 25/12/2016 20:07

Use it every day...sometimes twice a day

DollyPlastic · 25/12/2016 20:10

No, hate the stuff. I can't stand feeling sticky or putting cold lotion on.

Pancakeflipper · 25/12/2016 20:13

I now do after years of not. Think my skin requires it now (it's my age)
I use 2 brands (one is an oil by L'occitaine which is amazing on my dry skin).
I can notice the difference. Especially round my neck area

Wolpertinger · 25/12/2016 20:15

Never.

I use SLS free shower gel and no longer have dry skin (With SLS I am beyond dry skin and have full on ezcema). Life is too short to be faffing about with body lotion.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 25/12/2016 20:23

Occasionally put a bit on my legs after shaving and that's it

Me too and only if I remember.

goose1964 · 25/12/2016 20:24

Just vwait

PinkSwimGoggles · 25/12/2016 20:25

yes, I need it on shins and elbows to stop me from cratching them bloody. I don't slather all over though, hate that sticky feeling when putting my clothes on.
I prefer certain brands but my lovely uncle got me a really luxurious one that I would never usually buy for myself.

goose1964 · 25/12/2016 20:25

Just wait until you reach 50 you'll need it

Pluto30 · 25/12/2016 20:27

Every day without fail.

I don't have particularly dry skin, but once you're in the habit of using lotion every day, you quickly feel dry and scaly if you stop.

SloanyAnne · 25/12/2016 20:29

Yup 50+ here and my skin is loads better if I use it. I only use unscented or stuff that doesn't fight with my £££ perfume

sooperdooper · 25/12/2016 20:31

If anyone who uses body lotion would like to pm me I'll send you some in the new year, I'd much rather someone was making use of it :)

gamerchick · 25/12/2016 20:33

On a slightly different subject - does conditioner work? I use it because I got nagged by colleagues a few years ago but I still have split ends. The only difference I notice is that my hair is easier to comb after I wash it

Well you need to do more than just condition it, like get it trimmed regularly?

JT05 · 25/12/2016 20:33

Every day. Save them until the menopause hits with the dry skin! Grin

SunsetBeetch · 25/12/2016 20:37

Rarely. It gives me spots / blocked hair follicles.

PinkSwimGoggles · 25/12/2016 20:37

yes, and it prevents split ends because you don't need to pull it.
it cannot mend split ends, regular haircuts deal with that.
