Does anyone actually use body lotion?

I've got the usual Christmas smelly sets from in laws, grandparents and one from a friend. They're all lovely and I appreciate them as presents as I do use the contents....but never the body lotion.

This means I end up with drawers full of the things, because I have all good intentions of slathering myself with the stuff after every shower, but I can just never be bothered.

Am I the only one who wishes they'd just put two shower gels in there instead?

No because I can't stand feeling sticky for 3 hours after a shower. I want to feel clean and fresh not sticky!

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 25/12/2016 19:27

I use body lotion daily after every shower. Have done so since I was in my teens; I'm in my 40's now and have lovely soft skin. That extra 30 seconds I spend putting it on each day has paid dividends. Smile

I never get the body lotion thing. Now I am losing weight I am trying to remember to body lotion in the hopes it will help loose skin dream on but only really remember once a week.

When do you use it? After a bath/shower I am too cold. Other times it is too much of a fuss. I feel like I should though.

Bluetrews25 · 25/12/2016 19:27

I'd use it more but it's COLD!
Can someone invent a lotion-warmer gadget, please?

CantChoose · 25/12/2016 19:30

I use it every day. I always have too much shower gel and body scrub. Anyone fancy a swap?!

DotForShort · 25/12/2016 19:30

Constantly. I have very dry skin.

PlinkyTheFairyWitch · 25/12/2016 19:31

Nope. I use heavy duty moisturiser on my psoriatic skin but nowhere else. Don't need it, usually brings me out in a rash anyway!

StarryIllusion · 25/12/2016 19:33

I'd scratch like a baboon if I didn't.

UnderbeneathsiesTheMistletoe · 25/12/2016 19:33

I use it daily in the shower when I'm still wet. Just splodge on all over and dry off. I squirt a bit extra for my legs after drying. Takes moments, but lasts all day and my skin is fantastic.

I rub it between my hands to warm it up. I suppose you could put the bottle on the radiator if you're thinking cold cream rather than fragrant veil Xmas Grin

CrazyGreyhoundLady · 25/12/2016 19:35

Every day. Otherwise I'd be like a lizard.

Oh yes the scales!

Electrolens · 25/12/2016 19:37

Every morning after showering - my skin is dry though.

StarlingMurderation · 25/12/2016 19:38

I was really good about using it before I had DS. Now I barely have time to dry myself after a shower, let alone slather myself up in lotion! Doesn't seem to have made much difference to be honest.

BetterEatCheese · 25/12/2016 19:41

Nope, I have pots of the stuff in a drawer which I periodically throw away when it goes out of date

WhoKn0wsWhereTheMistletoes · 25/12/2016 19:41

I use it about once a month if that. My skin is fine without it.

BestIsWestofBedfordFalls · 25/12/2016 19:41

Yep, every day. DM uses it daily and at 79 she has amazing skin.

Vixxfacee · 25/12/2016 19:43

So you shower/ bathe and don't cream your skin after? Very strange.

PurpleMinionMummy · 25/12/2016 19:43

Yes, I do. I have lovely soft skin. I do use it less when it's cold admittedly though. I dislike the lotion and scrub sets. I never use the scrub as I use a body brush.

OrangeFluff · 25/12/2016 19:44

I moisturise after a shower, not always my whole body, but my face feels tight and my hands dry without it.

It makes my skin feel very soft, and I can definitely tell the difference when I haven't used any for a few days.

I don't use stuff out of gift sets though, just the brand that I like as I have sensitive skin.

RortyCrankle · 25/12/2016 19:44

Rarely but have been given oodles of it over the years which all languish unused in a cupboard. Oh and if I did it wouldn't be perfumed.

Lilybensmum1 · 25/12/2016 19:45

I do use body lotion daily but a good quality one, always after a shower and before getting dressed in the morning but, I never use the ones in giftsets unless it's a really good brand otherwise they are awful and I tend to throw them away.

allegretto · 25/12/2016 19:45

Every day here too, sometimes twice. Until I met dh I sort of presumed that everybody's skin got tight and itchy without cream.

PlinkyTheFairyWitch · 25/12/2016 19:46

Bluetrews got an old or current bottle warmer? That oughta do it Grin

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 25/12/2016 19:46

I use body lotion after shaving my legs. Shower gel makes me itch and scratch like the aforementioned baboon though, and its best hope is to be used as hand soap in the downstairs loo.

BarbedBloom · 25/12/2016 19:48

Every day after a shower. I have really dry skin.

SquinkiesRule · 25/12/2016 19:48

Yep I use them daily on my lizard skin Dry skin is no fun. I treated myself this year to Body shop body butters in a range of flavours, I'm loving it.
