AIBU to be very annoyed with my brother?!

I am sorry to be posting this on Christmas Eve, I know it's it really in the spirit of Christmas but I'm so annoyed right now and don't know if I am being unreasonable or if I'm just hormonal and tired.

I've been busy all day prepping cleaning and food for tonight as well as tomorrow. Family coming over tonight for a meal and bringing my brother with them. (He is staying for Christmas.)

Told him in advance that he would need to bring whatever he would need for his stay with him as I didn't want to be driving him to pick it up at 11 o'clock at night after friends go.

He has just rung to say that he didn't get his things ready as he went to the cinema instead. and after our guests go he will need a lift back to his flat to collect his items and presents etc and then be brought back here.

That means I can't drink anything with dinner and will be driving very late at night which I hate. It will be atleast an hour round trip plus however long he needs to 'get his stuff ready.'

I am fuming and have said I don't want to do it but have been told by my father that I am 'despicable' to say that I will not go and collect him
and my mum is crying saying I am ruining it for everyone.

Guess who their favourite child is so I am being made to feel like an awful person for not wanting to take him back.

How old is he? Sounds like he's an adult in which case he can bloody well organise himself!

That fact you had to tell him not to do this suggests he has form.
The fact you remided him and he still did it suggests he couldn't give a fuck or is making a point of making you do it.

Tell them you have already been drinking and cannot do it. As PP said, if it's so important, they can do it. Or he can pay for a taxi, or not come. Or none of them can come - they don't seem to appreciate you.

I would literally have a bottle of wine and a straw. Despicable is a horrible thing to call you (especially when it's not you being a dick) and crying is very manipulative. Tell them all to fuck off.

He's 26 and doesn't drive. I live in the countryside. There's no way he could get a bus or any other form
of public transport on Christmas Eve and a taxi would cost around £40 there and back(probably
more on Christmas Eve).

My dad has eye issues so can't drive after dark. My mum could possibly but she struggles with the bright lights at night so would not be easy.

Introduce your family to the new fangled industry that provides cars with a driver for short term hire. It's called a Taxi, just in case they haven't heard of it.

Did you post a while ago about your brother and another time he needed you to drive him somewhere? I can't remember the details now, but it was a very similar situation.

I have had a few drinks so am being firmer than I would when sober, but they are all seriously taking the piss.
