To ask you for ideas on how to tell my DH I'm pregnant on Christmas Day?

This is clearly not an AIBU but I'm shamelessly posting because of all the traffic and because I'm excited!!

I found out two days ago that I'm pregnant and I want to find a way to tell DH on Christmas Day.

I had thought about gift wrapping a pregnancy test but now that just seems boring?

Then I thought of having a customised bauble made with the words "I'm pregnant" engraved on it for him to unwrap.

Then I thought about wearing some kind of t-shirt/jumper with a message on it to indicate I'm pregnant and see how long it takes DH to notice it...

I just don't know.

Are there any creative people out there with some good suggestions? Or maybe someone who has done it themselves and would like to share?

Whyever not? Confused

Writerwannabe83 · 12/12/2016 20:35

Because I think I will just burst into laughter - I have no idea. I'm almost laughing to myself at the thought of it. We're just sitting in the living room chatting away about things and I keep hoping he will bring something up in conversation that can lead to me dropping in the fact I'm pregnant Grin

Get a white mug, get a sharpie and write Daddy Mark II on it and give him a cuppa. See if he notices

Writerwannabe83 · 12/12/2016 20:37

What's a sharpie??

And he doesn't drink tea or coffee Grin

Maybe I should just throw my pregnancy tests at him Grin

Two weeks is such a long time and it will feel like it as the first weeks of pregnancy do. Say you have an early Christmas present for him. Cook him dinner and wrap up the test or get/bake a cake and write something on it so you can tell him. There's no way I'd have kept it to myself. My dp had the test shoved in his face each time or was sent out to get one. Congratulations and enjoy sharing the news with your husband.

Xmasfairy86 · 12/12/2016 21:20

Omg. Had to get the charger!!

My DH was away when I found out and I planned to tell him on his return. I couldn't wait and apparently the whole hotel celebrated that evening Grin.

Congratulations Writer!! Sorry to hear of your previous loss. What lovely news at Christmas.

Dc2 for me is due in 7wks!!!

Writerwannabe83 · 12/12/2016 21:37

The conversation went as follows...

DH: do you fancy an 'early night' tonight or are you still bleeding?

Me: I'm not bleeding (said with a smile)

He then went quiet assuming that meant a yes to the early night.

Me: I was bleeding though....

DH: Oh right....

Me: It was called Implantation bleeding...

DH: Oh right (one eye still on the TV)

Me: Do you know what that is?

DH: no.

Me: Do you want to know?

DH: Not really (lol)

I then google "implantation bleeding" on my phone, get a good definition, screen shot it and then send it to him via WhatsApp. I wait for his phone to go Bing but there was just silence.

Me: Is your phone off?

DH: No, it just doesn't have any charge. Why?

Me: Because I've sent you something, shall I just show you?

He nods, I walk over and show him the screen, his eyes widen as he reads it, he stares at me and says...

DH: Are you telling me you think you're pregnant???

Me: No darling, I'm telling you that I AM pregnant!!! Grin Grin

He practically jumped up in the air with excitement and happiness!!
